Thread: Rifle Accuracy skill, usless?
has anyone else noticed that the Rifle Accuracy skill (and i think all of the accuracy skills) dont seem to actually give any bonus to-hit?
i am not sure of the precise workings of the combat mechanics, but i am sure this is not working correctly.
at 64m with a T21 it says my mod is -4 (why it isnt 0, as the weapon describes is beyond me and apparently a completely different problem). i am standing and neither me nor my opponent is moving.
at first i think, maybe my +55 to hit is hidden. well, if someone has +55 to-hit would you assume that they would miss 4 shots in a row? (btw that was after i was kneeling, granting a higher positive to hit). it seems ridiculous that such a high modifier to hit would seem to go no where.
is it even being applied, though???
the only other explaination is that the amount of bonus that you actually get from this is minimal (rather then a 1:1 ratio). which would make sense of why you dont seem to see all that more often as a novice marksman with a rifle. but if the mechanics worked like this, it makes even less sense to why this skill even exists.
has anyone else noticed this or why it is happening? any insight it great, as there is too much about the technical workings of this game VS. the number of problems... i never know when something is or is not working. how do you know if they didnt intentionally plan something to work in the manner that it does?!?
oh well, thanks for any info
I don't claim to have the slightest idea how the game mechanics work, I'll just saythat at master sniper accuracy I hardly ever miss while prone at any distance (besides point blank where you can't attack while prone)
