As most of you know using a rifle in melee will get you killed or at least very damaged against even the smallest mobs. So far I've been using a Laser Rifle for distance and a scout blaster for close combat. I wonder if the spraystick can replace the pistol. I heard something about the spraystick not having the same penalties the other rifles have in close combat. Anyone that can shed any light on this?

Personally I'd stick with the scout...from my tests spraysticks still suffered from some close range penalties, although not as much as a standard rifle and since there is a huge gap from min to max damage, with relatively low minimum damages, there's always a chance you'll do a 35 point hit.

Sprayers still have the same penalties as other rifles . If you are holding one when you get hit expect to be hurt , and hurt big .

Stick with the pistol , will save you lots of lives .

The thing with the Sprayer is it's ridiculous rate of fire . I have one down to 1.4 with slicing / powerups and I'm sure it could even go lower , perhaps 1.2 or 1.0 . That and the Sprayers ideal range is 30m , so it's a Rifle that acts like a Pistol . But you still incur the Rifle penalties , and a pistol will still give you a higher DPS and much more reliable hits .

Many style points to you if ya use the Striker hehe . You'll be doing all your damage with the Rifle bleeds anywaze so who cares if it's not as good as the others ? Only need to change when ya get that sweet sweet eye shot . I'm a box away and I can't WAIT .
