90% use melee? Maybe if you attack creatures... I've found probably less than half of yellow/red con humanoid mobs use melee. It can still be a headache though.

Precisely why I picked up Pistol Specialist (for the occassional retreat, hehe) and Master Unarmed (for toe-to-toe smack-a-do).

Yah if a mob closes on me i pull out the VK's or my launcher pistol, but i'd rather get 100% rifle xp so for the time being at least i'm sticking to npc's and stuff thats easy to kite/warning shot.

Its not that bad to me, we get the best distance between them and us, and if you only are a little developed in Rifleman intermediate concealmentcan be great. I can usually pull off 3 shots with a 5 second gun without being noticed, on NPCs that is, and with the spraystick Mind Shot 1 & 2 are great. Rifleman best resembles a real sniper, you MUST take your time and get into a good position before firing off shots at anything. Its not a very popular profession but I really enjoy it, but then again I am a bit biased. Some people would rather run around and blast the crap out of everything, while a few others would rather scout out a really fun one as opposed to running up to it, hurting it a bit and dying yourself, then coming back to finish it off. Honestly I think scouting should have been involved in becoming a rifleman, because in all reality of this game, thats what best suits you. Anyways from the way this post is going, it sounds like picking up that pistol was the best thing you could have ever done for yourself. Happy Hunting!

Rifleman does mind damage.... Swordsman also.

I'm currently working on my Rifleman / Swordsman - Combo, and it works great so far !

I kill most mobs by wiping out their mind pool with one headshot.

If I miss or the headhsot doesn't do enough damage, I usually get to fire another one before the mob reaches me (it has to run 60m, 2 shots are possible). If a mob really reaches me I just stand up and use 2-Hand Head Attack to finish his damaged mind pool.

I'm doing the same combo, BoeserUser. I'm not that far along with this alt (on Corbantis, where I can at least get a T21!), but the combo seems great so far. I don't know if it will work as well as my BH/Rifleman (HeadShot3 + EyeShot = pretty potent), but it will allow me a bunch more skill points to play around with.

Here is what I've learned from MMORPG's:
1) Pet classes rule all - get someone else to do your work for you.
2) Release substandard product and fix it as you go.
3) The only real deterrent to cheating is ethics.
4) Analytical skills are often not required to be a game developer.
