Thread: delayed 20s in pvp combat + some other Qs

Hi I am a Master Doc Master Rifles.

In pvp combat I keep being Delayed 20s - I believe this is due to a brawler using WarCry on me ?

Whilst delayed I cannot cure, heal or attack - 20s is a long time in combat.

How can I defend against this ?


Also another question I have is I can dizzy players using flurryshot but I dont seem to be able to knock them down. does rifle lack an attack which can knock down ?

startle shot 2 is a lower position attak so they will go into kneeling if landed, when they try to stand, with dizzy they can be KD

The delay should break as soon as you are attacked. But while you are delayed you are pretty much screwed. There is not much way to defend it other than to stay clear of melee classes, a good tactic as rifleman most of the time.

suppression fire works as a lower posture attack, but its in the marksman tree

Warcry is actually nothing to worry about in pvp, unless your opponent is healing a HAM you almost destroyed, mainly because the instant they attack you it is broken. so you are either standing there NEITHER of you taking damage or he delays u 5secs to stick an intimidate then attacks and the free-for-all is back on

warcry 2 is deadly if you have dots on though.

Crimson here is very correct the only posture down we have is Suppression fire from marksmen Combat XP line. Startle Shot I believe is a posture up (same as flushing but without the stun affect so it never gets used)- not much help there .

using posture changes is does not start the flopping fish syndrome you have to change position voluntarily- so posture up usually helps the rather then hinders the melee attacker (as they need to stand to approach you)

thanks guys. good to know that the delay breaks when attacked...but yeah its really deadly when a CM throws in a poison and then I get delayed 20s, I nearly incapped last time as ham was going down fast due to the poison.


CM and brawlers in a team are deadly.


I wonder what is a good Melee Defense for a rifle / doc- I currently have 40 and eat vegsparine to get more.

You know, when I had supression fire, I NEVER got it to work on a player -- novice artisan or stacker.


Might just be me though, but wouldn't waste my time.
