these rifles look and sound so cool...and they deal cold damage! i think its the only weapon, other than cryoban grenades that deal cold damage.
BUT....
They suck hard, 220 max damage, and AP0. these rifles are truly underpowered. There are alot of critters that have cold vulnerabilty, or at least lower protection against cold than against the big two (energy, and acid)
I want a really great SG28, so after being goraxinized, and all the other top notch goodies that these rifles can handle. plus a 30% slice...What is THE best possible SG28 that can be made by a weaponsmith????

Not sure why you bumped this.
I agree that it has cool sound and graphics, but it does suck. Havent carried mine in ages and ages.

I have one that's sliced to 270 max dmg at 5.0 speed. While I'm sure more is possible, this is probably close to the upper limit without getting into elite components, which would certainly be wasted in such a weapon.

i must agreee, its rather underpowered, a slight damage and ap bump would be nice, however, it still has its uses, there are plenty of cold vulnerable mobs out there

i may be wrong, but i dont think there is a single mob, even those with cold vulns, that you can do more dmg to with a sg28 than a t21 or dxr.

Remember that to cold vulnerable mobs, AP0 is same as AP3, as vulnerability negates AP. This rifle would sure need some nice damage increment, maybe with a special effect "cold", that makes the target slower/attacks slower/has negative modifiers on stats.

Well elite tuskens such as executioners, observers, and witchdoctors I believe are weak to cold.......you might not wanna hit them ranged though cause they can do 1000+ dmg per hit with ranged heh.

lol, i had extra krayt tissue after making a jawa so i made a krayt SG28.
dmg slice, bout 400 w/ pup, i am yet to use it on anything but it looks pretty. I know someone on my server looted a exceptional one, it has a uber mind dot
