Thread: +97 Rifle Speed -- What Do You Recommend?

Hello fellow Rifleman!

I wasn't too concerned on capping my rifle speed until I injected myself with one of those rifle speed stims that add +10 to rifle speed for five minutes (which had me at +100). I was hunting in Dathomir and saw a Rancor lair, I figured, "Why not give it a shot." I used my T21 that had the highest damage of all the rifles in my inventory and WOW! I powered her up and it did 700 max damage ... I used /strafeshot2 and man ... I was just amazed at seeing the Rancors drop like nothing. It was kind of mind blowing (no pun intended) and fun.

Now, my question for you guys:
I wanted to make a rifleman belt with a +7 rifle speed CA (do these even exist, or are +5 CAs the max?) and a rifle accuracy CA. This is much like that one fella posted a few weeks back with his very nice rifleman belt, it's what inspired me to do this. Unfortunately, right now, this is way too expensive for me, so I opted for a second option.

I purchased two composite armor bracers, one that has +2 rifle speed, another that has +3 rifle speed. I just bought an AA on the forums that does +2 to rifle speed which should have me speed capped. Now, the question: what would be the most logical place to put this last AA? I usually wear composite armor boots, gloves, and once in a while my chest plate if I go hunting "the big stuff." I know I'm going to have to wear the bracers now though, so, should I put the AA on my gloves, my boots, or my chest plate? I've never done this before, which is why I'm asking. I'm not sure what would decay the fastest, what I really need to protect me the most (because I do plan to still wear the armor even if it breaks or doesn't have any protection/condition on it anymore, etc, etc). Thanks!

Something you can put AAs in but that wont protect you, an Ubese shirt would be an example. That way, you can exchange your protective armor if it gets damaged too much, but keep the benefits of the AA. There is no point in wearing armor with 0% protection but encumberance just to have skill bonusses...

Great idea, Eskie! I completely forgot about that ... it still adds encumberance. CTRL+1 to target self, /doh. Thanks

there is one flaw with puttin attachments in bracers and bicepts. with the way armor is currently working/bugged (you only need head/chest/boots/gloves) if u wear anything more than needed it will spread the dmg out over those parts to lessen the decay on one single piece. if u put on a low protection bracer so that it also has low encumb so it doesnt affect u it will essentially open you up to attack, i have personally witnessed this when i was speed capped as a swordsman (had +5 bicept , +3 bracer and +1shirt plus FS boxes) you take SIGNIFIGANTLY more dmg with them there, ur best bet as u said first was a belt or a ubese shirt,i personally had my skill clothes custom crafted with more slots so it has the BE enhancements and my CAs, i try not to use AA but if i need to it will go in a shirt (so i can wear a PSG)

Unfortunately, you can no longer put AA's in a Ubese Shirt. It will only take CA's now, unless they reverted this change recently. The Armorweave belts still take AA's, but if you have one equipped, you cannot equip a PSG, so you have to decide if the tradeoff is worthwhile. If you are strictly PvE, I would say to put it in the belt, if you PvP or plan on getting into PvP, it's a tougher decision to make.

Oooops - I didn't know you can't put AAs in Ubese shirts anymore. Duh!

Bracers/biceps are alright, just as long as the base % is really high (e.g. 87% or higher). The higher the base % the slower it decays - also the more armour you wear the slower it decays. I personally have +16 rifle speed on a pre-nerf ubese shirt so im alright

so what's the cap on rifle speed? 100?

cos then i won't have to get FS ranged speed 4, but only need to get to 3(got 2 now)... and does FS speed stack/increase the speed, if your rifle speed is at the cap?

so many questions, so little knowledge in this head of mine...

the speedcap (with any REASONABLE rifle) is +97 (I'm speedcapped with a speed 11.0 T21 at +98).

FS ranged speed doesn't work for ranged weapons (it MAY work for heavy weapons, reports vary). FS melee speed currently adds speed to ranged AND melee.

Are you kidding me? This whole time I thought I was speed capped? Is there documentation on this somewhere? guess I'll start digging through posts...

Use bandolier for AA and then you can still use a PSG.
