Thread: Mastering Rifleman

Alright, I came to the conclusion that I could not use my rifleman as a sniper in pvp and against high end mobs (well not neccessarily true). The question is, is it worth mastering rifleman? Or is it better to dabble in a number of different fields? I find myself going up the flamethrower tree in commando, and I feel guilty about it. First of all is strafe shot 2 worth getting? Dostartle shot and flushing shot do anything? Is it efficient enough to simple be a 4/0/0/4 Riflemen as opposed to a master?

Thanks

Pre-Master Flushing shot 2 was my best shot. With a nice sliced/powered up laser rifle I was about to see some high 3500 base damage numbers. With this shot being AoE I could take out bunch of guys at once. Strafe shot 2 is also very nice, but if your not going to master it I would go up Master Rifle Specials and atleast Flushing shot 2.

Hey Cerba,

Thanks for the reply

Um, do you mean master counter-sniping? Cause that is where flushing shot is. Or did you mean flurry shot which is in the rifle specials tree?

Also, as it stands now, does strafe shot 2 justify mastering the rifle class?

you dont have to go to CS 4 to get flushing shot, its at CS 3. I think this is what he means.

What he meant was go up RIfle Specials to get the +speed mods. Once you get Rifel Special II you begin to see a bit of a difference.

In addition to that go CS3 for Flushing Shot 2

Yes sorry for the confusion. Go up rifle specials to 4, and up counter-sniping 3. This will give you very nice speed mods, and a great AoE attack.

Ever since they nerfed suppression, I never setup headshots with mind shots stack anymore...

Mainly use Flushing 2 now...yah...its the way to go...

I have read that people can master rifleman (or most combat profs) in 3 days. Does this mean constant playing (72hours straight)? Because i play about 3 hours a day and it seems to be taking for ever. Maybe im doing it wrong.

I got to Rifles IV last may...instead of using laser to get to Novice rifleman, i used the E11 rifle..it has a more balanced Min-Max, AP2, and a decent speed.

I also do not grind, i used my rifle in conjunction with scout, and Ranger...So now i am about to master Ranger, and Rifleman...on both i have only one box left untill master...I do not find enjoyment in Grinding...plus if you really wish to get a feel of the profession, and no how to use your rifles properly...grinding for 3 days, then dropping it in a week is not a way to go..

Those that do it in 3 days generally do so by constant playing. Many also have Combat XP banked from other professions which allows them to progress much faster than they otherwise would.

Can't say your doing it wrong. Depends on what your goal is. If you are having fun then I'd say you are doing it right. Personally I've never found just doing the 'grind' much fun.

If you want to just 'grind' then get buffs and a good set of armor. Then find a good place you can rack up XP. Where kind of depends on your level. Common places are Quenker missions on Dant, Geo Cave, and the Sennex Cave to name a few.

Does one have the option of dropping the Marksman X-X-X-4 skills while retaining/working towards Master Riffle and Master Ranger? Also, do you then regain those general combat XP's and thus could reapply them to the Riffle Profession?

Dev's: Can we get the SEA mods that do not work replaced with mods that do? Also, while you're at it, make sure to update the loot table by deleting mods for SEA's that are no longer applicable. Thanks.

you can drop the marksmen skills that you are talking about the closer you are to master rifleman.

no you do not get back any experience when you surrender a skill

Well, sort of new. I have been playing for about 3 months now and I'm having a blast. I took the appooach of not "grinding". that term never seemed to bring up any thoughts of fun for me. I just cruise around and do things here and there. I talk to people, I go kill stuff, I go check out POI's, I just don't "grind". To each their own though.

I'm still learning the forum lingo and all the acronyms being used. It took a long time to figure out that "CU" and "CURB" were related!

I'm still trying to figure out what I should do as a player in the game as far as making money and going on missions and doing my part in the game to make it fun and enjoyable for those that I interact with. The one majo complaint I have is the Apprentice Points system. It took 6 hours of hanging around and asking people if I could train them just to ge the needed AP to make Master Scout. For some reason, It only took 4 hours for Master Ranger.

I have one buddy on my server that I play with at times. He's a Master Fencer tinkering with different combat profesions. He calls it "stacking." I just want to have fun for a bit then work on trying to become a Jedi. I bet I'm not the first person to say that! I hear the road down that path is a mighty slow one frought with peril and many setbacks. Oh well, I willing to make the sacrafice. I will just have fun along the way as I refuse to "grind" for any reason or purpose. I guess the only thing I do or will do that may be considered "grinding" is that I will take on certain missions to go kill and harvest items I can then sell.

How do I go about finding out what people want as far as animal hides/bones/meat goes? How do I actually sell it? I must also admit that i am absolutley shocked to hear that some pieces of armor and weapons are priced in the millions! OMG!!! Where do peole get the credits for that?

Well, see you all around.
