Thread: I have a suggestion to assist in the melee beefs and posture nerfs, Aldeon, you still alive?
I dunno if this was ever brought up, but I don't think so since i am a long time reader of this board.
Now, as we all know, our problems just got from worse to uber worse: The 30 sec posture change timer, melee damage increase, melee HAM cost reduction, MORE pistoleers by the day = InstaDeath, just add water and Dev's thoughts of us.
Everyone has a posture change special, either posture change your ass to the ground or kneel, everyone's got one. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Artisans have a posture change pistol skill that goes up with crafting XP with how F'd up this game is.
We canadd a Crippling Shot or some other lame name like that that effectively slows down mobile movement such as walking and running. Can use percents, 10% movement slowdown at novice Rifleman, and 10% increase every skill block thereafter (sheesh, sounds like a taxi meter) Can go along with Rifle special abilities. And having it in every box we can slowdown movement to an opponent at a max of 40%, which to me isn't too much but still will make a difference. And staying in line with the flavor of the week, it can have a 30 second resistance to Cripple, and cripple should last 15-20 seconds, and the cripple status would be able to be healed by anyone with FA 3-4, or only by Novice Doctor's. HAM should beaverage 100-150. Oh, and it shouldn't do any damage at all, or a -0.5 modifier on it.
Suppression won't be touched since it is a Marksman skill, it will be there mostly for looks and to show off to your friends how much useless brokenskills you have.
A reminder that the rate of slowing down should not be so low that it becomes like surprise shot, WarCry, berserk, and other misc skills that no one uses as much because the negatives outweigh the advantages of using the skill. In fact, those should be fixed as well, but thats another topic.

Haha, whoops, contradicted myself there, ok, the crippling skill is acquired by the first box in Rifle special abilities, not Novice RIfleman.

I've read elsewhere (but not experimented myself) that the dizzy related effect now only lasts about 5 seconds. This is suppposedly a result of the shortening of all 'delay' related effects to 5 seconds in yesterday's patch.
Kiting is the way to survive against melee now. Since they can only lung/KD against you every 30 seconds, just keep running. They can't hit your while moving. Trust me on this: my complimentary skill is TK. They're really pissed about this in that forum.

Oops, I think I hit submit posts accidently. Anyways, that 5 seconds was for the Kock Down, mstly pistol knockdown. When you got knocked down by low blow, or pistol wip, or Pistols old AE KD, you would not be able to do anything for about 50 seconds. No burst run, no heal, no shooting nothing. Now its shortened to 5 seconds.
Dizzy still lasts quite some time, but it can be cured by a doctor.
I haven't done any formal testing yet, but I've noticed that my flurry2 dizzies end much sooner than they used to, in PvE. I haven't done any PvP since the patch, but it's very noticable in PvE.
