Thread: Does this patch negate Riflemen in PvP?
They can do 11,000 damage in PvE with a flamethrower.
They don't NEED to target a specific pool. Even after 75% damage reduction that will still kill you. Someone posted a screenshot in the Commando forum of them hitting a tusken raider for that much.
Rifleman will never be negated as long as mind is unhealable and we do big damage. This does hurt us as we are no longer the number1 short term damage class in the game.
I would like to see Holo explain **edit** the T21 was overpowered and these guns are not.
Also I wasn't that surprised to seethat thesurprise shot "fix" made it almost as bad as it was when it didn't work.
Going BH looks like a good choice for a pure combat character right now.
At first I thought HW have enough drawbacks that the higher damage would still be balanced.
But...people are one shotting night sisters and stuff.
One guy did a 15k hit.
Commandos are AOE too.
Look at the bright side. We have someone besides the pistoleers to whine about now.

As I said before if you put 20 meters between the Commando and you he cannot use his specials. For reference Melees at that range can one hit kill and Riflemen and Carbineers are also capable of one shot kills but at a much greater range.
A Flame Thrower can fire off one special about every 8 seconds and hit for about 11k maximum. I know some people have said 15k but I haven't even come close to 10k with my flame thrower and it does 844 max damage (I was also tried it on Fire vulnerable mobs). A Rifle can fire off a 3k damage Strafe Shot II about once every 2 seconds so in 8 seconds time it will also do about 11k damage. A Flame Thrower has the debilitating melee damage modifier but worse and they have to be much closer to use specials. A rifle also can have AP 3 compared to the Flame Throwers AP 0.
As Eltestor said the Commando attacks seem to be counted as melee damage. This wouldexplain a lot. I haven't made huge damage shots but I only used it on animal NPCs.The players I did use it on were melees and were definately not one hit killed and I was even killed by one before the DoT got him. It would also explain why so much damage is being done to Night Sisters and Tusken Raiders who carry rifles:
6,000 x 2.5 = 15,000
The melee damage will probably soon be fixed (it only took 12 odd hours to fix the T-21) and Commando damage will be more in line with the class.
So ajm317a Riflemen is not at all obsolete in PvP and does have weakness. You really shouldn't be worried unless your character is a melee in which case you need lots of help.
I never said that rifleman were obsolete.
All I said was that commandos were really powerful now.
Don't be putting words in my mouth.
