Hi All,

I have just reached Novice Pikeman... I feel this is a waste of time and do not want to continue this line... I am already a Master Droid Engineer and do not want to have 2 worthless profession

I can only afford to train 1 master ranged profession so which is best and why? I am interested in PvP and want to have a good weapon. With pikeman I am just chaseing people around hoping to catch them and maybe hit them

Thank you!

PS I am going to ask this question on Pistol/Rifle/ and Carbine Forums to get a good mix of good and bad.

Thanks Again!

BH or Commando, they can 1 hit you with all that massive damage. We are great if they ever fix us but as for now, well you can hit master by the time we get good again probably. Thats my hope I"m just about 1/0/1/1, just like 70k away or so.

Heh, acutaly im working up to Master DE myself..That leves me room to master one ranged elite profession.. Back before I decided to Master Artisan (saw the higher up DE schematics and saw that I have no choise in the matter really) I had Novice Pistoleer. More or less on a whim, I decided to switch over to rifles.. (PA mate of mine got me a kick arse bowcaster and I love using it)..

After I got rifle 3 (marksman) I went out and got a laser.. I like being able to do 2k and more damage a hit, but I am wondering how viable is it when you get higher up? I have a much harder time beating things off that aggro while im doing my harvester runs.. In a controled situation rifle wins hands down, one or two shot kills is much fun.. But im getting DBed a lot more since I switched, is this becuase rifles are just that bad? or Will things improve when I get up to Novice Rifleman.. or am i just doing something wrong?

I cant keep a profession to use in PVP only, I gotta have one that can keep the rabid bunnies off of me while I go on my harvester runs..

If you want DPS go pistol, if you want accuracy from any range go pistol, if you want to be able to kill anything that twitches go pistol, if you want to be a supposed great range fighter but aren't one go rifleman. we suck at my level but apparently masters are great at harvesting rifle xp...too bad thats an oxymoron.

No need to master a profession. If you can get Eyeshot in the BH line or just go up one of the heavy weapon lines from Commando, that should be sufficient.

The only way a rifleman can really compete in the current PvP environment is by taking Muon Gold (a spice) and doing headshot3 with a T21. And then run and hide when the spice runs out.
