Well the devs decided they really hate us now, Ihad a spcieal T21 made with a mind cost now at 173 so add our multiplier and I with 1k mind 1k focus 1k will and a 32% mind cost power up use 407 mind PER SHOT.

thats just lame and the devs really need to reword us not to mention that BH still hit mind faster and btr than we can and blin while doing it with a healable ham cost to them self.

BUt the newest worst thing ison TC they have added per incap and death a Item reduction in dur so every time u die or incap you items WILL decay so bye bye to 80% of all riflemen might as well go crafter cause if a melee hits us once more often thn not we r dead PVE or PVP I got hit by a grand wrix in pvp for over 3k while using a laser rifle a marksman lvl 2 gun which on kost servers is stil btr than a T21 elite gun

Riflmen have the lowest of all Def mods by any fighter class notto mention our def mods mostly dont work...anyone everseen DODGE but u donthavethe skill well its a ne bug block works now sometimes but it comes out as dodge take cover still doesnt work properly and if u dont have sneak skill u die ur cant move after clone this bug still exsists soo basically riflemen go ahead and flame away but unless devs fix us u can bet most of us willbe pistoleers bh or something else by thanksgiving

How in the world did you have a T21 made with a base Mind cost of 173 ? I didn't even think that was possible.

Optional components like stocks and scopes. Not the powerups, but Weaponsmith subcomponents that add features to the finished rifle at the expense of extra HAM costs. One of the weaponsmiths on Tempest has "Heavy T21s" that he made with stocks. Damage is 145-356 or something like that, but HAM costs are 67/60/99.

You didn't say what the maximum damage was. If that rifle can't do a one-shot kill, you better put it on your wall and take out your Laser. I would say the devs don't necessarily hate you, but that you're suicidal if you use it.

Okay, I just made Master last Saturday, without pets and mostly solo, and I did it the same way from first box to last box (well, almost), through every Nerf they threw at us. I lived through the T21 Nerf, I lived through the Suppression fire nerf, and I lived through the "Most MOBS BAF" nerf. So if you believe in the voice of experience, here is my advice:

First of all, if your only goal is to make master and not care about having fun doing it, then get a pet. I did not use a pet and it took me forever, but I really enjoyed hunting tougher MOBs just me and them. I wasnt in a hurry, I just enjoyed the hunts. But from friends I know that a pet will make life much, much easier.

Second, if you DONT have or want a pet, the only skills you really need come from the Marksman tree. Get mindshot 2 from first sniping box. The last MOB I killed to get that 3,700,000 th XP point for master died the same way that the first MOBI shot as Novice Rifleman died:with Mindshots, Warning Shots, and Head Shots.

That is the only main formula you haveto know. Sure, there are tons of little details to do it right, but if you are already novice rifleman, then believe it or not, you already have everything you need to make Master.

You want specific advice?
-- Tatooine. Greater Mutant Womp Rats (1800-2400 XP). Mountain Squill (3300-4600 XP).
Lots of mountain squill outside of Anchorhead, least when I was there last week.
-- Dont group with real people. They slow you down and you have to share the XP.
-- Buy yourself a probot (and some droid batteries), then Group with him in town and leave him there while you hunt. You get a LOT MORE XP for a kill if you are grouped, even if it is with your own Probot back in town. Without a probot, Mountain Squill gave me 2700-3300 XP. With my probot, 4300-4600 XP.
-- Until you get rifle aiming and accuracy skills up, precede your bleed shots with one or two AIMS.
-- Unfortunately, it does take experienceto learn how to fire MS,HS, and WSat just the right time and in the right sequence.
-- Very Important: Get the best pistol you can find/use. Then set upa macro and HotKey that does the following: Switch to pistol, standup, fire warning shot ...IN THAT ORDER
HIT THIS whenever a charging MOB is 30m from you.
-- Novice Medic is an absolute MUST. Stim-B's, baby! nuff said.
-- With Stim-Bs, set up a macro HOTKEY that does 'peace' and then heals yourself.
(You must have Stims in your primary inventory for this to work.)
-- The above two macro buttons will prolong or save your life innumerable times.

There's a lot more: muon gold, master muscian/dancer buffs, etc. But you should learn some of it on your own!

The new TC changes also include a major increase in passive defense for riflemen. Alot of additional melee and ranged defense and upping block to 95% at master.

THAT IS GREAT

You can avoid the decay by using insurance.

When buying weapons, there are many things to look at other than max damage. ANY rifle with a mind HAM cost of 80+ is suicide to use. The key is to find the best balance in a weapon, good max and min damage, AP rating, and HAM cost. Losing 50 max damage for 30 mind cost is a good trade.

Wayne's post is one good method to advance. I personally think it is the hard way, but it does work. (did my first million exp that way) He has several key points that every novice should know: better exp in groups; it is all about timing; know when to run.

The other way to advance is to get the mind bleeds, then to up the counter sniping tree first. Get thearea attacks (AoE) and then you have additional leveling options. Join a group and use theAoE attacks, you will get equal or better exp than the group. Do not use head shots in a group of players, you will get less exp.

Get a pet, and use him to tank multiple enemies while you machinegun them down.

Rifle is not as bad off as some other professions. It is hard to reach master, but at master is competitive with other highend class

You cannot add a scope to a T-21 - only stocks. Even if the person who made your T21 used to worst possible stock material I honestly have no idea how the HAM cost got so high, unless the materials he used for the T21 is also really poor which would result also in a poor overall rifle - or they critical failured on experimenting against efficiency and just kept quiet about it.

There is another way to get xp solo, sad but yes doable. Get 0,0,2,0 use AoE. Go get something that runs slow (you can flee from) but blue to you (you can kill in a few AoEs if ur lucky). Don't prone you need to run. Get some speed mod. Find a angle that embrace as many mobsas u can, turn away from it(and face thedirection u intend to flee towards)before you spam AoE, as soon as you fire a couple flee like hell. There is good chance you have killed a few already as u spam AoE and run. Don't run into another aggressive mob. Use the terrain to slow down mobs on ur heel (if you have terrain negotiation). U can spam AoE as u run to kill those on ur tail but make sure u r not hitting more and more new mobs as u run.

Avoid range attack mobs, and never try cat/bird mobs. The point is not to kill any specific mob, but to try to hit as many mobs as u can as u run away, and hope some would drop dead in range for u to get xp. Yes its tuf but fun, so long as no mobs warp on u. Otherwise, see u in cloning centre.

We all know rifleman is tuf, so why be one in the first place unless you want some torture/challenge?
