Thread: How do I increase combat exp
I found that the combat XPcame very naturally when filling in the other rifle boxes. I finished the combat XP tree with at least two of the other boxes unfinished. I did not do anything "special" to get it. Be patient, because you have to fill in 3 of the other boxes approx to fill in one combat xp box.

Here is something I read about here on the forums somewhere that may help. I told one of my friends about it and he tried it and it DID work for him.
If you can find them, buy some C12 grenades. Anyone can use them. I don't think they are very strong, not sure, but the good news is they give 100% combat XP. Now be careful, IF you use them with another weapon (rifle, pistol, etc) it MAY be that most of the damage has to come from the C12s to get the XP...

I assume, since they may not be real strong, that you might want to step down to some easily-killable weaker animals and try them out.
Good C12 granades have about 800 max damage. A power up will raise a stack of grenades up to around 1040. I've seen them hit for up to 1600 damage, although it is very hard to get multiple creatures in the same blast, but possible.
I haven't had problems getting combat xp by using other weapons, though your mileage may vary.
(In retrospect I should have just Unlearned counter-snip 4 and retrained it.)
Instead I unequipped my rifle , and killed gnorts with my fists, soon as i kit 2k of unarmed , I went to a survial knife, etc.. now its kinda lame but its fun to try for a little bit. I earned about 2k of combat before i maxed out in everything (all brawler, pistol and carb)

Combat XP is the easyest and fastest XP to get in the Rifleman tree.
1) Like everyone says get C-12 gernades.
2) Group with a pet or invite a bunch of newbs into a group to get the group XP bonus.
3) Kill Newbie MOB's in the newbie area, takes usually 1 gernade per kill and you get about 150-200 XP per kill if just grouped with your pet. It's the highest XP per time for Combat XP.
-While killing the MOB's always use Aim first, then lob the gernade
-Always have your rifle unequiped because if you miss the MOB when it aggros you will take less damage.
C12's work for everyone except wookiees
we have had our certification misspelt for sooo long I cannot believe it hasn't been changed! Naturally I am a Wookiee rifleman and weaponsmith the one grenade i can make that everyone should be able to use I cannot use myself!
Another trick is to hit a mob with a bleed (use one only to save it agroing immediately) and then hit it with a grenade, as long as you now only ever hit the creature with another grenade you will get pure combat xp plus the 10% combat xp that you normally get! (as long as the only non-bleed you hit the critter with is a grenade it does not matter how much damage you do to it with the grenade so even us wookiees can do this).
