Very late Saturday night, I was finishing off doing a bit of grinding in my basement before I hit the sack and noticed a red dot on my radar around our shuttleport and faction base.
"Hmmm", says I "the base defenses should have fixed his wagon, but Ill go out and have a look-see anyway"
So, strapping on my T21, I headed out to see what this chap was up to, a quick "tab" and an examine later I spot an overt Imp and his pet medic running back and forth setting off the base mines, having already destroyed the faction detector and killed all the npc defenders. They were untouched by the 2 dish turrets (which werent even trying to shoot them - bloody things!) and generally being as big a pain as possible.
I am a master rifleman (and love it to bits), so I quickly targeted one of the insurgents and took him out with a swift master headshot. Next thing I know, Im lying flat on my back, having been blown away by a single strafeshot 2 and a snipershot.
"Ah" methinks, "the games afoot eh?" Before I headed back to the cloneshop and tried again I did an /examine on the other guy. Sure enough, hes running around with a T21, no armour (a rediculous hat) and has every stat buffed up (including his mind secondaries judging by his regen rate.)
Believe me when I say that having to root out a buffed entrenched sniper from your own base - even as a rifleman myself - is about as much fun as a dose of the clap. This guy must have killed me 5-6 times before I eventually managed to get the drop on him and the few (useless, I might add) other guys that were making a vain effort to turf this bloke out, were getting zapped as fast a I was. The gloating fool was having a whale of a time. I had no access to doc buffs, the armour was proving useless against his strafing and I was, as you can imagine, getting mightily frustrated by the balls on this guy.
Eventually, I wised up a bit and used what i had on hand - a 7 minute mind buff from our resident afk dancer, 1 portion of correlian fried icecream, 1 angerian fishak and a neuton pixie and a healthy dose of "spray and pray."
I approached the base from a different direction to stay out of the surrounding water as much as possible (he had already run out from the base and nailed me while I was swiming once in the last hour), hit prone while I was just within range and started spamming HS3 as fast as possible. Did it work?
Well, sort of......
He started with the HS3 at first and realised that he was gonna get bagged before I was at that rate and switched to SS2, eventually my action disappeared up its own arse but not before I managed to to get his mind down to about 2 hits (one more shot would have done it - damn my hide for having to drop master marksman!)
He was obviously caught with his pants down somewhat because he found his self within reach of the base cannons which finished the job I had started.
Gotta say I had grudging respect for this guy, even though he gave my dignity a right pounding and was camping our own base.
Moral of the story - never underestimate the power at your disposal if used properly.
Im no PvP god, although I do enjoy it and hope to get better at it, so the question is - what would you guys have done if in the same circumstances?

if you checked his bio if he didnt have any melee profession helping him..you could do a flurryshot and suppresionfire and it would have been all over alltogether
