I'm finally done with the holomadness, and finally I have a mastery in the profession I love most: Rifleman. And I need to ramble for a bit

Yesterday was my first day as master, so I just had to try out my new skills .I figured what better way to test out my attacks than solo-raidingBestine (which is a truckload of fun now with the PvPitem decay gone). I traveled to Anchorhead, sought out the recuiter, and went overt. And then, off toBestine. I reached the bottom of the hill, with the recruiter and smallimperial fortat the top. Equipped my trusty T21, took a couple swigs of my favorite brandy, and went charging up the hill.

Ok, I went slowly walking up the hill. Dang I would kill for some terrain negotiation

I reach halfway up the hill, only to find a whole squad of Stormtroopers patrolling the top. Nuts, Palpy must've sent some defense to Bestine as part of his Crackdown. But there were also two players up at the top, so I figured I'd charge up and give it my best shot. I targeted the Imperial Wookiee... Flushing shot, Headshot, Headshot, Snipershot. Wow, that was fun. But now I have about 10+ Troopers shooting at me, and the additional player to deal with. Headshot, Headshot, snipershot. Ok, player delt with. Time to get my butt outa there before the Troopers figure out how to use the /aim command.

I run around the city over to the Starport, and stand in front. No overts around...Wait, there's one, A Master Bounty Hunter. This should be a worthy fight. I stand in front of the starport, the MBH running my way. I figured I'd be nice and let him get the first shot off. Instead...he ran right past me and into the starport. Ok...that was a bit odd. Here comes another Imperial, I bet he'll like to fight. I was wrong, he runs right past me, shouting "Teaching blah 4/4/4/4, Bleh 4/3/4/4, and Feh 1/1/2/4 PST". Dangit, does no one care that an overt Rebel is roaming freely in Bestine? Some Crackdown. So I stand there, waiting to be attacked. Wishing to be attacked. I see an overt Armorsmith, and yep, he runs right past me and into the starport.

I have the armorsmith selected just seeing what he's up to, when all of a sudden his mind drops to 0 and he is quickly deathblowed. Did I do that? Nope, another Overt Rebel Master Sharpshooter comes charging out of the starport, and quickly downs the Imperial who was looking for some app. Two master rifleman in Bestine, this could get fun. We group up.Over the next few minutes we kill the stray Imp or two, nothing really challenging. Out of nowhere though, a squad of red dots appears on the radar...and they're heading this way.

The Imp armorsmith, App guy, and some almost-master Rifleman are heading for us, and they have three AT-STs at their side. Damn, this is it. We both fire headshots at the first charging imp. He's down. Headshots on the second, and he's down. They didn't get their AT-STs on us in time. I chase after the third, trying to take out his mind, but he runs behind a wall, and before I know it, An AT-ST his you for 638 damage! Well that was fun while it lasted. I was quickly deathblowed, only to return overt a few minutes later.

We continue theassault, taking out a few waves of 3-4 Imps. But sure enough, Imperials do learn. We quickly find ourselves overrun by a couple armored opponents and their friends. The two of us were no match for such a squad. But we quickly received aid - Two of my guildmates, a Commando and BH, joined the fray, and what was a battle in Bestine soon became a battle right next to the cloning center :smileyindifferent:

Four Rebels, and about six Imperials, giving it their all and the cloner. After a few minutes of battling, we start getting pwned. After a few more minutes, though, afew of the Imps left, leaving it about an even 3v3 (one of our guys had to go). This pretty much turned into an Imp slaughter, with the Imperials coming right out of the cloning center, and right back in. After a few rounds they call it quite, and I don't blame them. It was a good fight.

About 10 minutes later, my BH friend and I were still in Bestine, dueling each other a few times to test out different stratagies. I wanted to see how long I could evade his LLC single 2 attack when I had CoB on (I'm also a master Fencer), so we duel. Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss. Ok, I'm satisfied. But while he's still shooting at me, one of the Imperials comes back into view, runs in front of us, and begins shooting (we both still had TEFs). Ok, this is just rude. Scatterhit2, Scatterhit2, Bodyhit3, Bodyhit3, Deathblow. Crazy Imp

Everything said, I havent had this much fun in a long, long time. Rifleman is the uber pwn Rifleman is a good profession, and fairly balanced

rebels TEFing again, ah what fun.

Like it was said before, the most dangerous thing in the world is a Rebel and his cloning center.

no but when a US marine kills a suicide bomber the guy doesn't appear out of a building 30 seconds later while the marine desperately tries to kill him but something isn't letting him and then the terrorist owns him. And rebels have a large numerical superiority that freedom fighters in real life and the rebels in the movies did not enjoy.

yeah, well, comparing this game to real life in that sort of sense just doesnt work

just like its a good idea to rush a guy lying prone getting his shot ready with your pistol blazing... shal we try that sometime, me using a rifle, you using your pistol of choice in real life, see who lives to tell about it?
