Thread: Overcharge Shot

Does anyone ever use this attack during combat? I believe that it will be a more useful attack for Rifleman if a chance for Knockdown were applied to it instead of weapons decay. The damage is minimal compaired to the warmup timer, and I have yet to find a proper time and or place to use this attack in a meaningful manner. Thoughts?

As its only a 0004 marksman skill, not relaly meant to be used a lot, as head shot is better once you get to rifleman.

Quite true, but a attack that only causes weapons decay? I was thinking move it to a Rifleman branch add a Knockdown to it and it could be one great attack that has purpose. In my humbleopinion ofcourse.

With the zipper timer, I think even range shot has a better dps than overcharge.


But headshot would be better.

Don't use overcharge shot unless you have an ADK.


If the rifle is good enough to ADK, chances are you will find Overcharge shot to be grossly underpowered compared to other shots you have available.


In other words, basically there is no reason to ever use Overcharge shot. The damage is low, the damage done to the rifle adds up with alarming speed.


Due to most decent weapons being ADK'd nowadays, the penalty has been removed and the incentive...well was never really there in the first place.

Further to the above - making it a more damaging form of KD is therefore going to be a bit unbalancing given the penalty for using it has largely disappeared.


IMO to have much use, make it a high damage shot with a penalty recovery time while the rifle cools down - this would be both logical and not unbalancing, and might solve some of the current dps problems in the head shot v. ranged/placed arguments.
