right now i have MR and 3440 bh... i dont have respec token anymore, but i'm getting bored with this temp so i figured i hunt some krayts for some pearls and maybe start up a vendor or something

anyways, what kind of a template should i have? to do the most dmg...

been thinking mbh/mr 4000 cm wouldnt actually be so bad...

or been thinking ms/mr/4000 cm (if i can have enough sp for that) i'd like to get smuggler since i enjoy being involved in pvp stuff (like slicing etc)

any comments?

Have been speaking to guild members about this, i'm MCM/MBH atm and am not really that into PVP so am thinking of switching to MCM and Rifleman. Good mix of defence and damage capability.

Well, suppose that depends on your preferences. I decided to give it the old college try last night, solo, at the Krayt Graveyard. And lo and behold...I solod several adolescents and a Grand before I had to log off.

Bear in mind that these are not QUICK fights. Position is EVERYTHING. One millimeter two close and that Grand will make you a snack before you can blink. I am MBH and MR, with 0004 pistols.

The secret to victory? Simple. Cover+Conceal until it catches onto you. Then Root. The rest is peck-peck-peck at it until it eventually dies. With the right foods your action will stay up good and full allowing you to spam headshot/crit/torso as needed. You will also require underhand to knockdown occasionally and Snare to slow it down when the root is recharging. As long as timing is good, it wont even touch you.

i decided to go for M.Rifles, BH44xx - for the duelist stance & extra skills (gen speed especially), and CM 4x44 - for good, heals, and two trees of cool de-buffs for pvp (the xx4x tree is good for PVP, but not PVE, where as the xxx4 tree is awsome all round). this alose lets me wear tantel armor with no issues (its the energy dealing pvp or mobs that cause the most issues generally)

just another one to think on

well this would be a crappy build for Krayt hunting (which the OP is asking for), as they do kinetic dmg and have no ranged attacks, and with no snare or stopping shot you are going to be chewing gum to any krayt you shot, becuase you dont have either a snare or stopping shot, or even a KD to get some room even with awesome healing you would have trouble killing a Krayt

Okay, weird combo, but I find it quite fun.

MR / MP / MMarksman / Commando 0010 / 3400 Combat Prowess

Okay, tons of offense (224 GRA / 72 GRS without adding intapes), but no defense, nor any healing. Why this combination? It has the root, the multiple snares anddisarm and the like, but it also comes with the Commando's Rocket Launcher, which it is a ranged KD that can be combined with a startle shotto keep an enemy (or a player) on the ground for a good amount time w/o being able to do much of anything till struck. So, you can root / snare / cover / sniper and the like, but when you get in trouble (low action or low health), you KD/startlethe target, it lays on the ground with nothing it can do except watch you get your action back, or heal, or eat food, or whatever you need to do to recover.

This template has worked great in PvE, and has had very good success in grouped PvP. Notice the grouped part is underlined, this template will be very difficult to do 1v1 (no healing, duh). But, when the Jedi melee wars kick up, you can apply all sorts of havoc to the opponents from a good distance while your buddies dole out the damage.

I use MR, MCM and Pistols 0003 to solo krayts and it works brilliantly.

My tactics at the start of a fight is to startle shot the krayt, quickly charge in and apply the electrolyte drain. You then run away and root it, at which point you apply the CM burn an poison. After that its just a case of dealing damage to it while running around in a circle.

i beg to differ, the xx4x tree in CM is waisted, but that could swap for x4xx for extra damage. despite the poor armor this is basically a tank template. i regularly take krayts solo, you don't need roots, kd i have the best snare in the game - CM for -40% for 2 min, and -40 combat speed - the krayt rarely hits me. when it does i can heal better than almost any other template. there is actually next to nothing this template has trouble killing. IMO if you need to kite something, despite it being a good, valid tactic you're just basically not stroung enough to be fighting your target. the only time i ever die or even get close is in pvp against other combat medics PERIOD.
