I have a Trandoshan Hunting Rifle Mark 1b with stats as follows (unpupped):
Attack Speed: 2.68
Modded Speed: 1.61
Damage: 491-1136
Accuracy Bonus: 20
Wound: 31.05%
Estimated Base DPS: 303.09
Modified DPS: 503.92
Range: 0-65
SAC: 82
What would you slice it with? Speed?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

are you a BH? if so then critical for a few levels and then some speed
not BH? then speed speed speed.
damage would be pointless- way to close to cap
sac is awesome
so yeah speed and critical chance.

Thanks.

Currently critical slices are broken in that they only seem to effect the critical chance of critical shot (a bh only skill)
It does increase the frequency that critical damage is done by BH'rs (extra 20% damage for the shot)
It does not seem to be working as a general addition to a shot - It should give you a % chance of doing the extra 20% without the special. It shows in combat spam but does no extra damage
If you are damage capped (or nearly so) slicing damage does not help that much at all.
Sac can not be sliced.
So if Critical chance does not help you - you would be better served getting a speed slice, if the % chance does help then the critical slice is a better bet in most cases.

damage cap is 1184... so a 4% damage slice would be perfect on this gun... a 10% chance to do 20% more damage on one shot is useless, even if this were the only shot you ever used, it would only be a 2% increase to overall damage, if you cycle it every 3rd shot (as you should for pure damage) you're down to a .667% increase... stop pushing this slice people, it's *NEVER* a good idea, this is not my opinion but a mathmatical fact...

It'll be fixed and it's +25% extra dmg I believe. I sliced my rifle for max crit. chance, best moment so far is having 3 crit. shots in a row. Yeah, the damage boostdoesn't work for anything elsebut crit. shot, but as I said, it'll get fixed. And on the contrary, this looks like the best slice for me, usually enhanced weapons are very close to the damage and speed cap.

even if it's fixed and you slice it to it's fullest exstent, it's only a 2.5% (inconsistant) damage bonus.. so unless your weapon is within 2.5% of the damage or speed cap, it's still a poor choice.

seems to me, with my calculations, that a level 4 speed slice gives the biggest boost to DPS - up to 574 - where combinations of damage/speed slices wont get it over 550.
however, a level 2 damage slice getting the gun up to damage cap (shy of a few points..) is tempting just because of the bragging rights
heehee
But i dunno what to do! I think im leaning to speed because my speed buff always runs out before i make it to my mark

dps is Fubar, but rifle speed *does* become a factor if you're not speed buffed.. still, i'd slice for damage to get that bost to minimum, and use a speed powerup if you feel you fire too slowly.
