Well i want to go big game hunting. You know, kryats and elders. Thing i was wondering is... if i have master rifleman and TKM. If a kryat or nightsister elder runs up to me and im shooting point blank with my rifle will my melee mitigation 3 come into play and the stuff hit me for alot less. I have asked alot of people about this but everytime i ask in a big group in group chat everyone argues about it. Some say it will work others say no it wont cause i'll have my rifle out and would need to go unarmed. Does anyone know for sure?

TKM is useless for elders, rifle(high dmg T21) iswhat you need as long as u have someone or somthing to tank for you. If you plan on getting hit you really want to look at swordsman and a nice scythe, food/drink, and a decent DOT mind weapon or combat medic with you.

wont the melee mitigation help me out if i have TKM even though im using a rifle. I liked swordsman butthey havehorrible defenses

to answer your question, i believe the popular opinion is that melee mitigation does not work when using a ranged weapon.

I think both of the mitigations only apply to what weapon you are holding, I was fighting nyax the other day, and was using my sword and was taking massive damage,I switched to rifle because it was obvious that i was going to have to kill him quick if i was going to win and the damage i was taking reduced imediatly, I presume this was the ranged mitigation kicking in, the opposite also happens when i switch from rifles to swords against a elder. Another thing to remember mixing Meelee and ranged is that intimidate, taunt and warcry can be used with any weapon so you dont need to use a sword to apply intimidation to a target, and when that elder starts running away from you, you can just taunt her.
