Thread: Was thinking of starting a riflewoman...

Yes, needless to say, I'm a woman,
I'm new to SWG, I currently play on Corbantis server and am looking for a profesion that will help me enjoy pvp a bit better.
I've mastered TK and am working up the skill tree of fencer atm.
I've been reading the boards and talking in game to some people and their oppinion is I need some sort of ranged profesion.
I'm really not sure how good rifleman is, compaired to other profesions, such as commando, pistoleer or carbine specialist.
To get to my question......
How good is it being a Rifleman in PvP vs. PvE?
What are some of the Strats you current Rifleman use during PvP?
How will Rifleman accomidate TKM? My thoughts were touch them from afar, beat them senceless when they come to me.
What are some good rifles I should be looking for? Names / stats / cost?
I know I'm probably asking some basic questions that will take some time to answer.
However, I would really be greatfull if some of you would take some time and try to clear my head with these questions I have.

1st off, I R NEWB so dont feel restricted to listen to second guess EVERYTHING I say.... But I will try my best to help you
I also am I TKM/Riflemen and I love it..
1st: I have gr8 defense acuity for my block, and we all know riflemen dont have good defense so that Acuity really comes in handy
2nd: Although I TRY to keep my distance from a melee prof with rifle it doesnt always work in battle, so with TKM I can always switch to my VK and KD them and start running again, or finish them off with TKM
3rd: Meditate is gr8 for healing wounds, and you have Force of Will
4th: Riflemen is a gr8 offense for pvp because you have strafeshot2(One of the most deadly shots in the game), you have a jawa rifle which hits with stun, and you can kite(Run and shoot)yourself to victory.
5th. For PvP N Rifle youll have to use an assortment of weapons:

Blah Blah Blah Assortment of Weapons:
1: Some ppl use a dxr with gr8 range to start the battle so you can put a stun on them with have an higher accuracy of hitting
2: Some ppl use a jawa rifle to see if they have stun armor on or not, if they dont theyre in trouble.
3: What ever you choose to start with youll usually always end the fight with aheavy damaged rifle (T21, DXR, Berserker,maybe even a lazer rifle)
?:If your target haslow mindI wouldgo with a head shot 3, if they got high mind go with the strafeshot2 and try blowing away theirAction & Health
?: You usually want high damage sliced rifles for PvP
?: In my template I am 4004 marksmen, I have the 0004 for 2 attacks, Aim, Suppression Fire 1
Aim: Is gr8 for when you are facing defense stackers(People who put all their skills in Defense)
because it raises your accuracy, suppression fire 1 lowers your targets posture so if you are being chased shoot that and hope to hit em, also before you use suppression fire be sure to use a flurryshot2 to give them a dizzy and make em easier to fall down..

Most people consider it pretty good in PvP. If you look at those calling for nerfs on Riflemen the majority of them are PvP types. Mostly this comes from being able to target Mind which is usually the lowest pool and the presence of the Jawa Rifle which is Stun damage. Which is usually the lowest resists on armor.
In PvE Rifleman is good. Especially against ranged MOB's. You will have some great AoE attacks. I like to find those large squads of Storm Troopers that are always in two neat columns. With buffs and armor I target the farthest one and start using my AoE attacks. They usually drop in those nice neat columns too.
What are some of the Strats you current Rifleman use during PvP?
I rarely PvP. However Mind pool hits seem to work fairly well. Also you can land a Stun on those defense stackers to make them easier to hit. Once they are incapp'd you can use SniperShot to finish them off from afar.
How will Rifleman accomidate TKM? My thoughts were touch them from afar, beat them senceless when they come to me.
I'm a Rifleman/TKA. I like it. Before combat I use PowerBoost. Hit my targets from afar with rifle shots. If they close I switch to VK's and hit my CoB macro. Then hit them with either UH3 or a SpinAttack2 depending on numbers of enemies. If NPC's I can also do KD and some other status hits. But usually UH3 is enough because of their weakened state from the rifle attacks.
What are some good rifles I should be looking for? Names / stats / cost?
Stats and cost is going to vary greatly depending on server, material availability, etc.
However you will want at least a T21, Laser Rifle, DXR-6b, and a Jawa. Probably a couple of each and get the sliced. Once you hit Master you will want damage slices. Prior to that you will probably want speed slices, at least on your T21 (slowest of the rifles).
You may also want a cheap lair killing rifle while working your way up Rifles. At low levels a DLT20a is a good choice.
I know I'm probably asking some basic questions that will take some time to answer.

Very good feed back, just what I was looking for.
Got the basic stats rifleman use.
The weapons of choice.
Helpful tips on leveling.
