Hello fello rifleman. I'm am a recently minted master rifleman, and I'm looking for some advice on bringing down a krayt dragon. I've got +7 rifle spd AA's, so I'm shooting strafe2 at cap with my 235-715 dam T21.
My question is about tactics. Shooting a creature that large would be easier with concealshot, but they always seem to find me immediately. So then I'm left running around blasting strafe2 and healing myself (also a master CM). I try to lure them towards other lairs that spawn in the graveyard, and about half the time the krayt will take the bait and fight the other mobs while I stand back and blast him, but he goes through a pack of banthas in about 30 seconds.
I've also been using poison and diseases on them since I'm a MCM, but it still takes 10-20 min to bring them down. By the time I've killed 2-3 of them, my armor is pretty much whacked from all the damage I'm taking.
Any advice on strategy and tactics for soloing krayt dragons would be appreciated.
oh yea I've been doing jeuvies through giants. When I see an ancient I just keep riding.

unless i'm with other people, i only go for juves, they are easy, fast, and in my experience drop a good amount of loot. when i have someone to tank i will take any krayts, or sometimes i go hunting with my MR friend who also is speed capped. for me, i find it much more productive to have a tanking friend or another rifleman, but when i'm alone i will kill 30+ juves from one spawn.

I would love to know where you are finding 30+ juvie krayts.

I brought down my first Canyon Krayt yesterday. All I did was get doc and music buffs, brandy, ahrisa, plenty of powerups, and 80% kinetic armor. My technique was headshot3 until it died. I stood there and took the brunt of the damage, occasionally I would train it into a group of spawns when I wanted to give my armor a break. I would /warcry and intimidate every 30 seconds to further reduce the damage. I continued this while applying a mind bleed and healing myself when necessary. It took about 10 minutes to drop one dragon.

tanking abilities on high lvl mobs have nothing to do with defences.. they hit ALWAYS... tanking has everything to do with: armor, buffs, food and novice medic+brawler. if you have 80 comp, 2500-2600 doc buffs, ahrisa + brandy and canape/muon if needed, and novice medic to heal yourself when needed, and most important:
NOVICE BRAWLER TO INTIMIDATE. noone can tank effecively without this...

Why not get a Master Brawler while you're at it. Intimidate 2 lasts longer and has a better chance of sticking.

because most people need skill points as well
imo, the best rifle pve template would be... master brawler/fencer/rifleman if you have enough money for +7 rifle speed. otherwise, maser marksman/fencer/rifleman.
but lets not get that discussion started
ps: I usually stick all my intims in the beginning of a fight with my +16 intim shirt (be) shirt on, then switch to my ubese one..

i dont know if im speaking outa my ass here but ive taken down a few krayts, but i wouldnt dream of usin strafeshot2 in that area it will just attract too many nearby tusks, dragonets and other nasties i always use hs3 and that only.

krayts normally dont spawn with any other creatures around them, and if they do, these creatures wont survive very long
you want to use hs3 if you are solo yes, but if you are trying to outdmg someone, you will have to use ss2..

when you find a spawn of normal canyon krayt dragons they come with a juve too. first, lure the juve, and just the juve 300m or more away from the spawn, then kill it. come back and there will be another juve, and do the same thing to it. i can get 30+ juves from one spawn doing this. my personal record is 36

i have never solo'ed a dragon due to me being a wookiee and having cardboard for armorbut myfriend and ioften take down elders and dragons together since he can wear composite armor and tank while i stand back and spam headshot 3. you would need mind buffs and a lot of mind food and at least novice brawler/medic to intimidate and heal some damage.
