Well i am coming back to SWG and my profession Rilfeman, I was there almost since the begging of the game and my character Higah was the first Master Rifleman on shadowfire. Now i need some info before i start my char. Whats a good strat to ge back to master rifleman when starting with **edit** money. And what is a rebel rifleman friendly server, meaning recources for my guns and a good amount of fellow rifleman.

Hey Reb... welcome back.

There are lots of riflemen around these days, as the profession is working very well, so pick any server I would think.

Not sure when you left but here are the headlines you may be interested in:

-- No more x2.5 melee penalty

-- No more warping creatures

-- Great new chef foods and drinks for riflemen: brandy, canape, ahrissa

-- Doc buffs very strong now. Get you 6 HA stats buffed up by 2600 each for 10K total for 3-4 hours

-- Musician and Dancer buffs available to buff all 3 mind bars for up to 2 hours

-- New rifles: DXR6b (acid), Berzerker (Heat - very hard to find)

As far as best strategy to level rifleman, I can't say. Havent done that in this generation! LOL.

Bottom line: IF you can afford it (may be a big IF).. Get good armor, then get buffs and food and drink, and go out and kill things. With good armor and buffs, you can find good MOBs to kill that can't kill you.

Welcome back. I just came back from a shorter break also. I would imagine any server is good to play Rifleman as they should be the same in terms of PvE combat, PvP on my server is in a terrible state right now.I play as MTKA/MRM on Lowca and love it...I can just about kill anything from ranged or melee (have a mix of Swordsman for MindHit2 also).

If you are going to go Rifleman again I would start with Rifleman/CH or strong melee for defense after being attacked. If you get Conceal Shot you should be golden also and leveling up against Grauls is easy XP. If you go CH/Rifleman go to the Geo caves on Yavin...level up CH at a rate of 200k an hour on a good day...tell pet to attack then retreat as you get an automatic 2000xp for CH for one hit against geo spawns...you might get some decent Rifle xp if the melee folks are tanking slowly but thats rare..they pretty much tear it up for the loot rights.

Other than that regular Quenkers on Dantooine are great xp also...buy some disposable Laser Rifles so you can burn them up with the special shots and power level....get some good brandy and moun gold for mind plus doc buffs at 10-12k a hit and you should be Master in a few days or less depending on how much you play.

Enjoy

Just curious, but with over 250,000 people per server, how do you know you were the first? Were messages sent out to the first masters? I've been playing since week 1, but didn't master anything for a long while...

I started grinding to rifleman in the krayt poi, shooting the crap out of everything that moves(still do that sometimes to)

not been rifleman for more then a week now, and im just about to master it, have one skill box left. been grinding slow.

but just wanted to say that the krayt poi is a great place to start grinding, lots of things to kill and most of the time there are peeps in the krayt poi that will help with heals if you need that

Hey RebRifle,

Just a few tidbits,

-the DRx6 Rifle (the acid one) is certified at counter-sniping 2, just an fyi. oh and they can cost 50k+

-I've found nice success with a spraystick 10k spamming point blank area. Even against higher mobs, but Im not sure what that iscerted at.

-Be sure to buy some vasarian brandy, much cheaper than muon (per charge wise) and lasts over 30 mins for about 400 mind bonus (and you can take two too!) its a chef drink with about 50 fill *wink wink*

-Strat wise with little money hmm... Get a group and do missions with them. Lok can be good for this, and if you play on Wanderhome, check out the city Shadow on Lok.

-Newbie Quests!! I forgot! Okay, these can be a nice help, for every starting profession you get, your newb helper R2 will come out and be like "blah blah blah, kill 5 creatures and harvest them" or "blah blah blah, heal 7 people" anyways when you finish one, you will recieve 2k credits at the end, a free cloneing certificate, a thing of fireworks, a free travel certificate, and my personal favorite a vehicle rental deed! (you can only use it 5 times, but its a big help starting out!) Oh and you can only get those gifts once, even if you do multiple quests. BUT you can get the monetary things for every starting prof. you do! thats over 10k or something w00t not bad for a newb!

-Server I have no clue about resources, but on wanderhome Ive been able to find some decent weaponsmiths/armorsmiths and plenty of rifleman to train me.

and if you do choose Wanderhome, send me Raanged, a Gmail and I'll hook you up atleast with missions and a dlt20a or even some credits if need be.

I always find it fun leveling a newb avatar. Remember that at this low level you can "go wide" and buy d&mn near all the novice profs.

Lets see no one was wearing the master tag for 5 weeks after i got it. And when i asked every rifle i meet in the game and forums, including my server forum everyone said there were like half way there.
