I have a Laser Rifle and a T-21

Laser is

44min

409max

4.4 speed.

T21 is

168min

396max

6.1 speed.

Which should I be using?

Thats a crappy T21 I'd go with the laser.

How far are you in Rifleman, are these guns sliced, and are you doing PvE or PvP with these?

The T21 is one level higher on AP so it does 25% more damage. So you we can list it's stats for the comparison as 210/495.

Next we have to figure out the average damage per hit.

For the Laser Rifle it is ( 44 + 409 ) / 2 = 226.5 per shot.

The T21 is ( 210 + 495 ) / 2 = 352.5 per shot.

However we also have to figure in the weapon speed. Since you didn't list your speed mod here are the numbers without any speed mod.

Laser Rifle 226.5 / 4.4 = 51.48 average DPS

T21 352.5 / 6.1 = 57.79 average DPS

So the T21 is sligthly better. However as your speed increases the T21 will increase the difference. You can figure out what your average DPS is by finding your speed mod ( It's listed on your skill sheet ). The formula is ( 100 - speed mod ). The result is your speed mod percent that you multiply the weapon speed by. So if you have a Rifle speed +60 you would have speeds on the weapons of 40% the listed speeds. So they would be 1.76 and 2.44 respectively.

Whatever it is you can plug it into the formula above to see the average DPS. The T21 will be slightly ahead.

However the T21 will also probably have higher HAM costs. Though with buffs/foods those will not really matter.

But to answer your question, use the T21.

Its a normal t21. It got a speed slice. Most t21's are around 7.5 speed 404 damage I believe.

Well, no need for to explain the difference since Waste took care of it But- That is a perfectly acceptable T-21. The best ones on Eclipse are around the 395 mark(less-than-amazingRainbow Gemsso far )before any slice or power-up. The best for most servers is around 404 and you can get a bit higher with the 'patch day' schematics, but not toooo much higher

On my server, flurry, unsliced T21's are around 7.6-7.9 at 400ish max damage... that T21 isn't bad at all. If you are still grinding, unless you have an amazing speed T21 (I have a 4.5 speed 400 max damage) I suggest the laser, or if you can afford it, a DXR-6 rifle after you learn countersniping 2.

i would say both can be "better". as to which actually is, depends on your rifle skill, target and its resists, teh HAM costs on the weapons, wether they have been sliced or not, and if the yhave a powerup or not, and if so, which one ?

thats the correct answer.

the 360ish T21 can be good if its very very low HAM costs, otehrwise its crappy, the laser at 4.4 speed looks liek it got a bad speed slice, and it also depends on the HAM stats, BUT if you are not master, then you need the speed, so the benefit of a dmg slice becoems questionable.

PVE - DXR or T21

PVP - JAWA every time.

Out of the 2 you have listed, t21 every time cos of the AP value.

Also for PvP. The DXR-6b isn't that bad. Many PvP'ers have max stun layers on their armor now. So the AP2 of the DXR-6b isn't that bad. But more importantly, the DXR-6b is usually more accurate. So some Rifleman get a special DXR-6b that has been experimented for accuracy. This helps against the defense stackers. My DXR-6b wasn't experimented for accuracy but it has +120 at ideal. Which is about 50% more accuracy than other rifles.

this can be true, however you are fighting against high base acid defense on most composite, add to that the usually highish ham costs and it can be detrimental, i've found the best opponent for the dxr is at-st's, takes them down so fast its untrue.

True. However with defense stackers you may be hard pressed to hit. The Jawa may do more damage, but if it isn't hitting........

There has been talk of reducing armor resists with the combat revamp. If so that will make more weapons more attractive in PvP.
