Hi
I've only been playing a few weeks, my toon is going to be master rifleman/master bouty hunter which apparently allows me to wear both assault and recon armour I think. Which armour is best? I'm not interested in PvP just PvE. How much is a reasonable amount to pay and exactly what type of armour should I be shopping for? I am on Chimaera. Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times, I couldn't find a relevant thread.
Cheers

Basically, Recon is better at energy, assault at kinetic, in theory kinetic is the one you will get hit more of in PvE ,but it comes down to looks more than anything .
You want something unlayered mostly, as that is the cheapest and with the diminishing returns the higher resists dont give a huge benefit.
At the start you only want basic armour, as the advanced gives you severe speed and accuracy penalties at novice, this should be cheap, if you can find a new AS they may be the best to help there, talking to one is the best way to get advice, Id recommend an in game mail rather than a tell, from experience, Armoursmiths tend to get a lot of tells, and can be just ignored if theres too many, mails let them answer when they can.
For advanced armour, once you have got up the rifle or BH trees a bit, look for 7000 main resist 5000 secondary, 6000 the rest , that is about the best unlayored stuff, and is as good as you would wish. How much you pay , I dont really know on chimeara, browse through vendors using the bazaar and have a look would be best.
