i'll have to double check what i was doing again. what a pain in the arse though. guess this isn't that good of an attack anyway.

Holo (I think) posted several days ago to these boards saying that surprise shot was getting fixed. I think that the only specific problem with it that he mentioned was that it took you out of the "covered" state, which it was apparently not supposed to. However, I have tried using it several times since this announcement after each daily hotfix, and have had no luck with it. For me it always results in a "this shot cannot be done with this weapon" message, at which point it does a normal attack instead.

Somebody else tried doing this shot with a carbine and said that it worked, which has lead most of us to believe that either the shot points to the wrong area of the database in determining which weapons can use it, or possibly that surprise shot isn't even supposed to be in the rifleman tree.

So, it is safe to say that this skill is still bugged... Plus, there has been some debate as to what exactly the shot will *do* once it is fixed, either being an aggro avoiding shot like conceal or a high damage opening shot, or something else entirely. I guess that "Surprise shot" is a good name for this skill at this point.

Even when it "works" it doesn't currently do anything. You just do a normal damage shot.

what in the heck is this!? am i correct to say that i have to use a PISTOL, not a RIFLE to do this move now? i tried it with my laser/t21 and it won't let me.

what in the heck is a pistol move doing on the rifleman's tree?

Were you in cover, and do you have sneak? Still I never see this move do anything anyways.
