Thread: Krayt Hunting question for Riflemen...
Is there ever more than one spawn at a time? And how large an area do they spawn in? It seems rather small. Other than forming a large group of other damage dealers, am I out of luck going up against these guys?? It would be nice if the spawn area was large so that you could go stumble across one without every resident of Krayt city joining you.

$ of you, and not one can tank a Krayt? So how were you able to spam strafe 2 all day? The krayt wasnt stuch was it?
Not sure what the first part of your statement meant, but as for the second... I had musician buffs and two +421 Vasarian Brandys. My mind did slowly sink, but never ran out. The Krayt wasn't stuck. A couple of other people showed up, but they were like pistoleers, and maybe another TKA. I kept my range between 40-60 meters and managed to get incapped twice on four Krayts, if I remember right. They kept turning from person to person and only came after me a few times. I had doc buffs also.
Hiya Wayne,
I've had a little experience in Krayt hunting, I'd like to do it more but just finding the time to play at the moment is a problem. That said from what I have found as far as the Spawns go usually after scouring the area around the graveyard to find a Krayt the most common spawn I find is one where 2 Krayt spawn at once. One Canyon Krayt Dragon and one Juvenile Krayt Dragon, once you kill off the first 2, 2 more will spawn, this'll happen several times until the spawn is dead. In every case I have never seen a lair, it's just a spawn point. I'm not entirely sure if you can get more than one spawn of the same type in the area, I'm guessing no but I don't see why you wouldn't get the Canyon Krayt / Juv Krayt spawn and another Ancient Krayt Dragon spawn in another area of the Graveyard. They are 2 different types of spawns after all.
One time my group and I were lucky enough to come across a spawn ( Possibly Bugged ) that had no less than 5 Canyon Krayts and 2 Juveniles. Personally I think it was a bug that had 2 or 3 consecutive spawns at once.
As far as hunting parties go you don't need huge ones, just well built ones. I usually hunt with a Master Heavy Swordsman and another Master Rifleman and occasionally a Commando buddy I have joins us. We usually get quite a bit of decent loot and have a lot of fun heh!

I'd love to find a spawn where I could take my time andtry different things. Not to solo, necessarily, but where I was the main damage dealer, and couldtry some different shotsand different weapons to see how they worked.Guess I could do that anyway as long as I resign myself to no loot.Unfortunately, I don't have the skill points to master Marksman again and get the +5 speed.

That would have been AWESOME to see. Sorry I missed that!

Yeah, I think I need a better group. I have a couple of friends who are working rifle. I need to take them with me when they get Master.

Thats a tiny group of non elites with only one brawler who has a chance of tanking. Im surprised any of you lived.

Anyway, i use t21's in the 650+ max range, it makes a big difference. If you cant afford to spend alot, find the best stock t21's on your server, buy a bunch, and use the best damage sliced ones. You also need +5 rifle speed to reach the speed cap, its a must.

Yeah that's the main problem with Krayt Hunting, usually there are several groups out there and you all have to compete for one spawn. You just don't have the time to try things if you want your group to be productive. Though it seems a lot of that has changed now that they no longer get stuck on objects, HAH! All those Fools who used to exploit them now have to actually stand up to them in battle and it seems to me that it has become to dicey for them, at least on Bria. I went last night with my group and we had the place to ourselves.
That huge Spawn was a one off deal I think, and as per usual I was so excited I don't think i took any screenshots.... I'll check! Ya know what was really funny, I was chosen to start the attack ( pulled the short straw ) so I thought ok, what the heck... I'll go out in a blaze of glory. I just ran in range and started using Strafe2 on all of them. They all used their area attack on each other and proceeded to start hammering on each other, they completely forgot about us.. heh..
As far as groups go now, I think you'll find having a Melee Tank with some expensive armor comes in handy. Master Heavy Sword is great, everyone hitting Mind on a Krayt shortens the combat time alot. A combat medic is also a good addition, for Poisons and area stims.
I'll PM you some other detals mate...
I'll go with ya sometime Wayne- whenever I can start playing again. CM's are a must for their ranged heals and poisons. Plus, MindHeal is amazing no matter what anyone says. I've used it maybe 7 times on my friends before I'm wiped out on Mind. Commandos are a must for krayts now since all DoTs count towards looting right. Of course, if you have a Master Swordsman tanking, Master Riflemen are all you'll probably need. ![]()
As far as spawns go, most of the graveyard is able to spawn krayts, though certain areas are more likely. I've never seen an Ancient krayt
but the most common one for me has been the Canyon/Juvenile combo.
Any Melee Proff can tank it with a good Healer and armor but the thing about Swordsman is they have Higher AP weapons and can Target the Mind Pool as well. Just an added bonus

Hope you get online again soon, Kez! Let me know when and we'll definitely plan a Krayt trip!
What makes Swordsman so good as a tank? Do they have the best defense of anyone?
The Ancient Canyon Krayts didn't seem to focus on one person, they were turning every which way. Lots of times I got hit once for a big blow, but then the Krayt would turn away onto someone else, so I rarely go incapped.
No loot though.
