Thread: Question: Am I wasting this Speed Tape?
My question is... Am i better off just using the +7 and trading the +3 for a speed tape +1 and some cash ?
Well then trade em, or sell.
All you need is 98 really, though in case they make a 25 speed rifle you might want to get 100![]()
Grom...
I am on Eclipse and could definitely use one of those. Can you PM me (or reply here if you like) and let me know how much you want for it? I would really appreciate you giving me a shot at 'em.

I recently acquired 2 Rifle Speed Tapes a +7 and a +3. From the way I read in the forums is that your speed is cap at +98 at Master Rifleman. so Rifle speed is pretty much the same as +8 and +10 in Master Rifleman.(Is that pretty much the way I understand it or am i deeply mistaken?)

First, you are correct in your understanding. Your personal speed mod, the speed of the rifle, and the special delay multipliers all work to determine the actual speed. Since no weapon can fire at more than 1 shot per second and since we know the delay on our slowest special, you can easily determine what personal speed mod you need to achieve the speed cap with a given rifle. Plugging in a few numbers, you find that a personal speed mod of 96 will allow you to fire even our slowest special (Strafeshot2) at the speed cap with any rifle with a speed of 7.1 seconds or less. At 97, you could use any rifle of 9.5 speed or less at the cap, and at 98, you can use any rifle with a speed of 14.3 at the cap. So I would say it is safe to say that you would be able to get by in almost any circumstance with a speed mod of 97, since most rifles you would expect to use fall well under the 9.5 seconds number. Heck, even if you did get a 14.3 speed weapon, a speed mod of 97 would still allow you to fire it at 2.0 seconds per shot. So 97 is really all you need.
Second, I agree with Barb's post. Clothing and armor decay. There is going to be a point at which the tape will become unusable. Therefore, I would go so far as to suggest it would be wisetohang onto tapes that you may need later.
Another consideration is that you may want use tapes in additional clothing or armor so that you can wear a variety of configurations. For instance, you may have a set of PvP only armor and a specific set of clothes you want to wear with it. You may also have a set of armor and clothes that you want to wear for PvE. It may be valuable to have mulitple speed tapes to allow you to wear different clothing and armor configurations.
Personally, I would hang onto it.

you guys are aware that clothing with tapes that have decayed to 0 will stop working in patch 9 or 10?? if your placing millions of creds on a tape better take care of it.
Holy.....gotta be kidding me? Please.
Haha, well, that will make the search for new SEA's interesting.
Original post, they are armor attachments. Unless they are going into an ubese shirt or a belt that you always wear, you are going to eventually need more mods as your armor wears out. I'd recommend putting that +7 into an ubese shirt with 4 slots that will become your new under-layer. You'll be at the cap all the time with a shirt that will never decay and still have room for 3 more SEA's. Otherwise, keep them both. Your armor will eventually wear out and you'll need more speed.

The cloth's I got 7 months ago is still at 80+ condition.......
Ofcourse thats because I learned this game when we had MOB warping a 2.5 melee damage, those two factors made me learn to pick my fights wisely.........
