Hello all! I'm yet another up and coming Rifleman. Originally I planned to be one of those triple master Smugglers, but I've given up on getting Pistoleer because of how worthless it is so far and Master TK is, well, boring.

So , I finally got Novice Rifleman last night and had enough Combat exp to get 0002. So far I really like that dizzy shot and the T21 rifle, but I have a couple of questions.

1. Should I try to get Suppression Fire 1? From what I'venoticed, Rifleman doesn't get a KD, all they get are moves that posture change up. With Suppression Fire I can hit them with a dizzy, then force the targetdown.

2. Has anyone noticed a difference in damage output with a T-21? I know it's a heavy AP weapon, but the damage I do seems on par with my Laser Rifle. Although I did notice a nice headshot once that did almost 2k of damage.

And fwiw, my template plan so far is going to be Master Smuggler/Master Rifleman with some Scout for Terrain Negotiation, and some of the meditation line from TK. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

1. suppression is only good for pvp (or low level npcs) mostly if you can posture change a guy while he is dizzied. i had extra points so i picked it up.

2. yes there is a major difference in t21-laser. but this depends on the resists/armor or the creature you are shooting. at only 0002 you may not see a difference but higher up it does show, when lvling rifle you shoudl be using a speed sliced laser until atleast xxx4 then a speed t21.

Good advice, thank you. What I'm wondering, then, is if any posture change attack works when a target is dizzy? I know if my character gets dizzy and is already standing I can still fall down if I hit /stand. So, with that logic, could I dizzy a human NPC and then do a posturechange-up attack and cause him to fall down?

Doesn't it have to be a voluntary posture change for them to fall down? Seems like I read that somewhere. Never tried it myself, so don't quote me on that.

The Laser Rifle is your friend until you can use the DXR-6b. Once you have 0-0-2-0 you can use the DXR-6b and you'll have a much higher degree of success. As your speed increases, you can begin to use speed sliced T21s. Just watch your combat and pick which rifledeals the most consistent DPS.

Ok here is the skinny on Supression fire 1 and dizzy. I have a macro set up for flurryshot2 and flurryshot2 then supressionfire1. This should dizzy the npc or pc, then voluntarily make them change their posture. Usually this is done while the npc or pc is standing because it is my first series of attacks. So the pc or npc would then kneel. Most npc's will stand back up or lay down when ranged attacking, this is a voluntary posture change which would in fact make them start flopping. If the pc is kneeling, he actually has a brain to maybe stay at the kneeling posture until the dizzy wears because he knows he will fall over when he stands.

I have almos the same template as you do. I am a master smuggler for the guild, and master rifleman with 4.4.0,0 TK. I also have Ranged support IV. This is not the best pvp template by any stretch of the means, but it is a good money maker (smuggler) and also alows you to deal some hefty damage when pvping. Good luck.

Sage advice. I guess it all boils down to what works best. In the end I will be wanting to include some scout for the terrain negotiation+mask scent and enough TK to powerboost and heal wounds. Too bad they put in a weapon switch delay.... I could have just dizzied and then low-blow the target with a pistol.

I think I'll do this build for now:

Master Smuggler/Rifleman
Marksman: 4404
Teras Kasi: 3000
Scout: 2000
