Thread: Some questions about Rifleman

I just became a Rifleman today, and I am now CL 14. I'm starting to feel that I can actually do something, but my problem now is that I can't find any creatures to kill. I try to do missions for the Imperials, but even the white cons kill me easily. I think I need armor, but what armor can I buy? This whole CU certs just confuse me. Am I supposed to wear any Recon armor? I can't find it anywhere in any vendors. Also, where can I hunt as a level 14? I was hunting around Mos Eisley until I hit 14. Then all those easy targets became 2 exp. per kill. Please help, I'd be very grateful for any answers!
for armour you just want any recon, the common one you are likely to find is ubese.
however, you only want basic armour, the higher level stuff would affect your movement and speed to much.
best bet is to look for a new starting AS, or send an in game mail to an AS on your server, explaining your level and what you need, armour is quite expensive now, sadly, even the basic stuff, it all depends on your server.
As for killing things, I found npc's hit much harder than creatures, and for levelling they arent as good.
My advice if you want to stay on tat and do it solo would be mos tailke, its a bike ride from mos entha, but you get your missions there and they are all within 800m to 1000m from the terminal, mission creatures will spawn at or near your level too, giving you the best xp available to you.
If you can though, grouping up gives much , much quicker xp rewards(and you could probably manage without armour for a little longer too in a group) coronet , bestine or theed would be the place to go to find hunting groups, depending on the server.

Also, I really need things to ease up combat in any way. Is there any medications of any sort I can take during combat to replenish my health? That would really help. Also, does food and drink do anything with combat? Would it be a good idea to fill them up aswell? And, how many points do I need to join the Empire?Message Edited by Pagerot on 05-30-2005 12:25 PM
food and drink can give you a little more health, and also boost the regen rates of action and health bars, for healing your health bar when you get hit, you want some instant stims.
Stims are tied to player level, so make sure you buy ones that you can use, theres normally some on the bazzaar somewhere.
To join the imperial faction only needs 10 faction points, but you need more to gain a rank, I think the first rank is still 200 points
Lets see...where to start. First off welcome.
Best Way I found to find armor is open your planetary map (crtl v) and do a search for armor vendors (now this will be different planet to planet) but it should give you a good list of people that are selling armor. Check out their vendors and see what they have. Make sure your speices can wear it too (Wookiees and Itho's have to find "special armor") As for getting exp, I have found that grouping is the best way. You can usually find big groups (on my server at least) running out of Naboo, Dantooine, and Correlia. Might also checkon your servers forum to see if their are any imperial guilds that are recruiting, a good deal of guilds will have a hunting group goign during the day.
As for "easing up combat" food and drinks are always good. Vasarian Brandy should still do you right. It adds 200 to your health regen and speeds up your action regen by 20% (don't know about the new stuff). I would also keep a crate of Spice on me, neutron pixie is what I recommend because it also affects the health and action pools (mind isn't really drained unless you are using medic abilities). The spice will last about 10 minutes and most smugglers will have a vendor (check your local bazaar). Also check for Stim's (at your CL Stim A's are more than likely what your certed for), keep a handy stock of them on you, they are great at giving you that extra umph when you might need it. I am sorry I coudlnt' be more specific but I hope this answers a few of your questions.

I'm on Corbantis, was that a good choice of server? Not like I'm gonna' leave it now, but I just chose it because my friend who I play with is there.
the very best reason to play on a particular server actually ^_^
- CL14? are you novice rifle or still marksmen? I think CL 14 means you are still marksmen so you will not be able to wear recon armor yet
- do a vendor search for Stimpacks (vendors are terminals that can be found along with bank terminals at banks) stimpack is probably all you can use. They are heals that you can use every 60 secs.
- Sitting increases your natural heal rate and regen rate after combat by 200% (so /sit to recover faster)
- see if you can get doctor buffs - they help with many things
- use drugs - just make sure to avoid being scanned by police or troops while packing
- get an entertainer buff - a 10% bonus to xp is always welcome for grinding faster
- grouping is your friend - try to find a group of 6-8 similar level characters and take missions from mission terminals - your kill rate will go up and as long as everyone gets a shot at each target you all get full experience and so you level faster.
- once you get novice rifleman switch to a spray stick rifle (better damage)
- if you are still in marksmen I think you probably are cert'd to the dlt20a rifle which if you don't have you should ^_^
- at CL 22 get a e11 rifle

All right, this is starting to annoy me abit. I'm taking missions with difficulty 12. I'm CL 14, and I can't take those two levels under me. I don't understand why, I'm using the Spraystick and everything should be fine, but they kill me everytime. When I take mission I get incapped once per guy I kill, not really fun. I don't really WANT to group, so isn't there anything I can do? What am I doing wrong? They just shoot alot faster and hit me alot more than I hit them.
you will probably need to pick up medic to use bactashot... and expect to get incapped lots unless you are grouped. You don't have to groupbut you are 1000% more efficient if you do.

If I get Novice Medic, what skills do I need to be efficient enough to heal / etc. buff or other things during combat?
personally I would drop medic...Stim's go off your combat level. Unless you want to be running around in group healing others (which isn't advisable since this will draw agro) I would stick the points you are using here into either scout or another ranged class (such as pistols)
