Anyone here tried playing something like a Master Rifle, Master Pistol and then like 3 columns of Carbineer?

If so, how was it?

hmmmm i tried master marks, master rifleman, master carabineer and pistols 0404 its a good template with high accuracy and some decent special attacks... you have root attack, snare attack etc. With master carabineer you can wear battle armor... and have few AoE attacks that come handy in PvP...

I eventually settled on Master Marksman, Master Rifleman, Master Carbineer and Pistoleer 0004 (will be 0304 after I get enough Pistol XP) + some FS skills (still working on Jedi ).

Have not had much of a chance to play with it yet, but it seems to be alright. You get a good damage attack in Snipershot from Rifleman, you get a Knockdown from Carbineer (though you can't use it while prone! ) you get a Root from Pistoleer (though it doesn't last all that long and has a long cooldown) you get the extra speed and accuracy from Master Marksman, and you can do it all with a T-21 or Laser Rifle to get plenty of Accuracy, Speed and Defense, or you can swap out for a Carbine or even many Pistols. Though your mods are better with Rifles and Carbines, if you have a nice pistol you can use it fairly well.
You also get assorted AoE attacks from Carbineer and the ability to go into cover and use conceal shot from Rifleman. You're not likely to use either a lot, but both should be useful some time.

Rifleman is now working fairly much as intended and does not seem to be obviously overpowered, so the nerf bat shouldn't swing here. Carbineer seems to be mostly due for fixes and improvements too. Pistoleers "Stopping Shot" will probably be "nerfed" some time soon, but that line in Pistols also gives you a bunch of extra Melee and Ranged Defense, plus the somewhat useful Fan Shot, so it's still a very useful line to take.
0x00 in Pistols gives you extra General Ranged Accuracy, which is why I'll be taking it until I meander my way to Jedi.

High accuracy leads to fewer misses and more damage, both from hitting more often and from the occasional damage bonus against low defense targets (or ones that have been Armour Break'd )

(And not taking Smuggler or Bounty Hunter means I don't have to go to either forum anymore... )

I've also gone all ranged, Master marksman, Pistols, Rifle with 0440 Carbineer. He's right massive accuracy (mine 358) which equates to no misses and higher damage. I've seen 3500 with advanced sniper additionallyit gives you all the choices of specials you can think of. I have 1 toolbar setup for pve and 1 for pvp and with a bite of ranged food my accuracy goes to 395. Ihave noticed lately that when melee friends aggro the mobs that the hate factor is not so bad if you space out your shots, seems like the mobs are not quite sure who to hate the most. They seem confused and spin in circles with no one taking much damage. If I can find a few more rifle speed AA's muu haa haa dangerous dude.

Yeah, the skill mods from mastering Pistoleer rather than Carbineer are better. I think the Ranged Speed might have been slightly better with Carbineer, but all the other mods were higher for the MPistoleer combo I looked at. I only went Carbineer because I wanted the better specials.

Unsure if I made the right decision, but I'm stuck with it now anyway.

MR/MP/3440Carb/MM

general ranged accuracy: 255 general ranged speed: 55

MR/MC/4403Pistols/MM

general ranged accuracy: 260 general ranged speed: 60

so really not much difference - and quite honestly I would probably do

MR/MC/3404pistols/MM

you drop 5 speed but pickup +10 ranged defence and +10 melee defence

Yep, that last option looks a good bet for non-FS folk. You also have 1 point free then (if my math is right) for an FS Speed or Accuracy box as well, though it's only a +3. Or one of the defenses, for a +5.

The other reason I forgot to mention was that Rifleman and Pistoleer are both Recon Armour professions, whereas Carbineer is Battle Armour, giving you a bit more variety.
