Tapes/BioE clothes/Armor attachments can't add more then 25 to your speedSpeed has no cap.
My tests indicate you hit the point of diminishing returns at around 140-150 speed, so from my perspective its not worth going above that. Some people like every edge they can get however, and you never know, two hundredths of a second may just win you a fight one day

Speed has no cap.
does that hold true for all mods

+25 rifle speed knocks off between .08 and .09 speed off my weapons. I really havent noticed too much of a differnce with most of my weapons. However, when i put a speed powerup on my better weapons my mod speed drops to .96. I would assume that 1mod speedis still the speed cap, but even then you cant fire all your specials with 1 second intervals. I will fire 2 or 3 in a row at 1 second intervals and then fire 1 or 2 at 2 second intervals. So basically my timstamp ends up looking in second intervals like 1,1,1,2,1,2,1,1,2,1,etc. I am still trying to get +25 ranged speed or even 10 to see how it helps in redcuing speed compared to rifle speed tapes. Doc buffs also help significantly in getting your speed down as low as possible, but doc buffs suck so much now that its really not worth the time or effort in looking for some. Whatever dev thought 12 minute doc buffs would be useful to anyone other than a doc is a complete idiot.

I'm happy to have Doctors/CMs along for healing and reviving, but re-buffing everyone every 10 minutes is silly, you're right.
I can think of solutions to it, but this isn't the place.
As for the original question, it's already been answered, but no, there's no speed cap anymore.
My advice would be to not sacrifice other mods purely to gain more speed, but if you can get some extra speed without losing anything else, go for it. More speed will always be to your advantage - you can choose to drain your action pool insanely fast to really pump out the damage, or you can space your attacks a bit more carefully. Choice is yours if you've got the speed.
As for the speed cap thingy and diminishing returns....if we use the speed forumla that's posted in the FAQ (ie: the 3rd order poly..) IF we manage to get speed over 200 we'd actually see INCREASING returns on weapons speed...
So my holy grail now it to some how get my speed mod up to 381. This is when my weapon speed should be in the negatives......![]()
