Thread: Is there a faster macro than this? Pleas adivse!!
ummm...this isn't how you grind nymore.
-First you get in a group
-Together camp out a spot, making sure there aren't too many people there
-While they do damage, fanshot/sprayshot (don't use a macro) and rake off xp from nything someone in your group kills
-Don't use your macro since you'll end up killing yourself by aggroing everyone, ONLY area attack ONLY if you can handle several aggros at once, or if your confident in your group. Just help kill with your teammates and you should get plenty of xp.
-If you or your group doesn't do majority damage, none of you will get any xp
-If you did 5% damage to some enemy, you'd get the same xp as someone in your group who did 95% damage to the same enemy
hope this helps...

Hi. I have been hunting a camped spot (akuuan caves) and try to out damage otehr people but before i even get a shot off they gys are already dead. I run the macro listed below whih i thought was a good macro but obivosuly not. Is there a better, faster macro?
/ui action cycleTargetOutward;
/ui action toolbarSlot01;
/ui action toolbarSlot02;
/macro name of macro
I run fan shot and spray shot in the two slots. Please lmk if there is a better macro.
It is impossible to macro faster then a player at the keyboard now. You will find that you do much better atk and using all your specials rather then just two. Also as the previous person said you are basically committing suicide using aoe attacks. You would be better to use higher damaging single target attacks and tactically using states that you may have in your arsenal.
I apprecaite all of the advice but I AM WANTING o use AOE shots as Im camping akuuan caves and it deals dmage to multiple targets which i want..
taking this into account....what can u do.....i mean the akuuans die in 2secdons so only time for one maybe 2 shots
I havent been able to get any combat macros working in the CU. Exept CoB.
better off just mashing the keys bud.
Take you lootwhor'ing ways over to the Items and Loot boards.....they will help you there...

Well, technically you can grind AoE, only if the enemies are like 30 lvls lower than you and you are buffed, full, and drunk.
Attack macros don't work nymore because of the new system, you need a pause somewhere in there, and it will overide stimpaks, which you will really need if you're going like this. It's ok to use this in a group, just know how to run away when you have several aggros on you. (I think when you land a sprayshot and then run into safety that when your friends kill it, you don't get as much xp as if you actually were near the enemy when it died, wonder why)
Btw, after the cu, the only way to be lazy is to use the respec. And now that's gone. Have fun with the grind, I suggest Aurilia while it's still in phase 4 or a place where you can attack things near your lvl without suiciding, such as dant.
If you really think about it, combat is a lot more fun now, as long as you don't whine about being uber precu, since those who aren't uber precu are having a chance to do what we always wanted to do. Heck, SWG shouldn't be a few uber people ruling over weaker players. Unless you worked really hard for it, like a jedi master, then you can go complain.
Oh and, btw, if you're not in a group, any way of getting xp would be a bit of a threat to your health bar, especially those that are within 5 levels of you or your group (I saw a few grinders almost getting massacred by piket defenders thinking that they could use the old system of areaing, wasn't a pretty sight) You have to attack things one by one now. You'll get used to it
Is this a joke?
Anyway, like everyone else said now, you can't macro combat like you used to. Also, if you're fighting things far below your combat level, you'll won't get any skills anytime soon... 2 xp a kill won't cut it. It's a whole different system now, and it's a lot more interactive.
My advice:
Get yourself in a group and start killing things your level or higher. You may actually make some friends. Also, your xp gain will increase and and you may learn a thing or two about combat tactics. Another alternative is to pick up another profession.. like scout and you can solo creatures around your level (traps have found a use again, just look on the ranger forums). As for macros... drop the macros and really play.

Non-Social, non-aggro creatures are wonderful to grind xp on. Ronto seem to be the best for this. Take 1 or take 10 at a time, but you choose how many you wish to fight. It sets up a much more controlled environment for xp grind groups with minimal chaos/incaps/downtime.
