Thread: Spraystick Stats?
I have a spraystick, a good one. But I wouldnt drop pistol for it. The 2.5x melee damage applies if you have a spraystick in your hand. My advice isto create a macro similar to mine and hot-key it in your rifle bar:
Macro does this: switch to pistol; stand up; peace; fire warning shot;
I'm not in-game right now, so I don't remember the exact commands, but it has saved me TONS of health from charging mobs. Typically I would be prone, firing my typical shots (MS2, MS1, etc.) and when the mob would eventually charge, I would try Warning shot. Now warning shot doesnt always work, so when the mob reached 30m and was still coming, I hit my macro button. By the time he got in melee range I was standing up firing warning shot with a pistol. No damage for prone... no 2.5x melee damage.
I also had another macro to switch to my favorite rifle, so if he does go scampering off from the pistol warning shot, I could one-click and be ready to fire whatever shot I wanted when he was far enough away.

Well to be able to hit master in both ranger & rifleman i'll have to drop the pistol line in marksman, but I basically only want the spraystick for warning shots as you've described. I have a similar macro, except it also equips my armour, and then my other macro puts me back into prone, equips my rifle, and switches me back to regular clothes. With my sliced ubese armour the 2.5x melee damage isn't all that bad, but you're right it's quite a bit less with a pistol. Maybe since i'm only doing warning shots just a CDEF pistol will cut it (that way I don't need the pistol skills), or even continue with my fwg5 without the cert for it. I mean it's just warning shot...
BTW, why the /peace in your macro before the warning shot?
To tell you the truth, I don't remember why I put the peace in there (been a while). I think I intended it to clear the combat queue. But any special rifle shots that are already in the queueshould get rapidly kicked out when you switch to pistol anyway, so it's probably not necessary.
BTW, this brings up a question I've always wanted to know the answer to... Does it matter what weapon a warning shot comes from? I.e., does a warning shot from a T21 have any more chance of having an effect than a warning shot from a CDEF pistol? Anyone really know?

If you ask your favourite weaponsmith I am sure they will be happy to turn out a nice D-18 pistol. Fully tooled up they are very respectable sidearms for Novice Marksman cert. I do not recall off hand but roughly I have them at 60ish-125ish/1.5 Very fast out of the box, slap a damage powerup on it and away you go! Oh and I scope mine, so they have very good accuracy bonuses.
Excellent idea Kershakk, I forgot the DL18 was at the base of the marksman line.
Well since this thread started I found a decent spraystick (master weaponsmith guildmate made me one for free) so I'm going to try it out, but if it doesn't work I think the plan is to drop all pistol skills from the marksman line, get a high quality sliced DL18 for warning shot.
Awesome thanks guys for helping me out.
