Thread: Did something change about bleeds?

Hello... not a frequent poster on this forum, but i must say its a change to come here away from all the bitching on the BH forum.

My question, have they changed something about bleeds recently. I just started my character on Farstar, basically a copy of the one i had on Lowca, and have now got up to having MS2. My favourite tactic was to bleed someone/something then stay out of range until they were very nearly bled totally of mind then run in and finish the target off. Now it seems that the target bleeds down to 1/XXX then stays there. I know you dont get xp for the bleeds, and have to inflict some 'real' damage but did they change it so it wont bleed to 0 now? I always enjoy if i got incapped and a NPC walked towards me and died before he got there. This doesnt happen anymore.

Thanks in advance

hehe... if only that were true.

try getting set on fire. sucks being set on fire and getting incapped 3 times in a row till you die. from one shot that is.

Yes. This was in the patch notes from last Wednesday's Big Patch(tm). Bleeds will not incap anymore. They will take the target down to one HP and then stop (sorta).

This has pros and cons.

On the "con" side, as you and others have mentioned, no longer will you be saved from getting a DB when the MOB coming to kill your incapped self suddenly drops dead from a bleed.

On the "pro" side, you no longer have to worry about losing XP from either (A) a MOB that dies from a bleed before you can do any non-bleed damage to it; or (B) a MOB that wanders out of XP range and dies from a bleed.

So it's something of a mixed blessing. Whether you think this was a good change or a bad change depends a lot on your personal fighting style. I, personally, would prefer the risk of losing XP to a bleed if it kept me from being killed. But I recognize that there are many who feel quite the opposite.

They should make it so if someone has less than 25 HP in any of hte pools they can't DB. You know..they're just too weak to do it.. can't quite put on the finishing touch...

Keep in mind, too, that they have made a change in the AI of NPCs so that they do not DB you as often either. With -5000 Plasma Thief faction points, if I got incapped by the Plasma Thieves that spawn near Moenia, they would always DB me. Since the patch, I have been incapped there probably 5 times thereand only been DBed twice.Last night afterincapping me,a Plasma Thief wandered aroundabout 20 meters from me bleeding down to 1 point of mind the whole time, yet I wasable to get up, run off a short ways, hit a couple of heals and come back an one shot him with a normal shot at that point. Before, I would have been killed, and by the time I ran back from Moenia, he would have bled to death and I would have gotten no credit. Now, even if they do kill me, I can get back and expect to find them still alive, AND only need to hit them with one shot to finish the job.

Yeah, there are consequences to the change, but there are many benefits as well.
