the advantage of rifleman TK is the defense vs everything in the TK tree. and thats the main reason why this combo is this popular.

the melee abilities of TK are just a bonbon :-)

Don't forget that TKA gives you powerboost. My mind with PB is 1500 for 11 minutes. You also never need to beg for wound heals in the med center ever again. I'm a TKM and I will never give it up. I couldn't imagine playing the game without these abilities.

As a current Master Rifleman and former Master Commando, I'd say no to this combo. Listen to the guys above and go Rifleman/TKA. A much better combo. Or, Rifleman/Commando Flamethrower 4/ and then as much TKA as you can. Other than Flamethrower 4, the other stuff was pretty much a waste.

naw, i don't think this combo is so good.. If you want close up + personal mastery, TKM is the way to go, as the others suggest.

besides - at master rifleman you will kill commando's even at 10m range more often then not. (point being - you're more effective, pvp, as a rifleman than as a commando, more often than not.)

Ok guys this is my first post so if this question has been put to you then sorry.

I am working on becoming a master rifleman but also am working to become a master commando. What i need to know is this going to be a good combination? I love being a rifleman and would not trade it for any other class but I am wanting to be able to defend myself up close and personal. Any input is welcome.

Well the popular class if you wanted to be good at close/far quarters combat is usually the Master Rifleman/TKM Combo, i've never experienced much fighting a Rifleman/TKM, so I would'nt know much about it, but I can tell you that at master rifleman, if you are far ranged, you can probably take him down before he gets to you, with all the speed mods, and if he gets too close to ya, just light him up with a flamethrower.. Doesn't sound that bad IMO.. worth a shot to try out.

If that is your concern you are overlooking the fact that a rifleman can take out a AT-ST. The T-21 has heavy AP and can do the job very well.

It helps if the AT-ST can't hit you as well, which is where the TKA combo comes into play.

If you are mainly interested in at-st's, go master rifleman/Master 2handed swordsman. And for everything else, putting 4 mind bleeds on something should be extremely deadly. Also, counterattack is suppose to work pretty well compared to block.

Well guys thanks so much for the replies! The whole reason I asked about this combo is for the Commandos ability to take out ATST on the battlefield along with the Riflemans ability to deal out Death form a great distance. I am not real interested in the TKA profession. Dont get me wrong the TKA is a force to be reconed with, but I don't think (not sure) a TKA can take out an ATST solo. The power of the two professions(Rifleman,Commando) have great strengths going for both and I just assumed that the combination of the two would play well with each other. Like I said i just dont know for sure, but logic is telling me that the two should go together. Thanks guys. You have been a great help!
