Ok, I'm working on rifleman as my 17th profession to master in the game here. I'm thinking that rifleman is my key to unlocking my slot (I have a few weird theories and they all point to this). So I'm looking for suggestions on the best way to grind out xp since I don't really want to be a rifleman.

Right now I'm using a really nice sliced E11 (107-370 damage, 4.5 seconds) and I've been doing Bol missions on Dantooine since they are vulnerable to energy and having a pet tank (rotating graul maulers and delerious mereks). I get about 2000-2500 xp per bol. The kills are just so slow solo.

So, any suggestions on other places to hunt or what to use to move along in this prof sucessfully and quickly? By the way, right now I'm at 1/0/1/1 as a rifleman.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have to admit that the only reason I started Rifleman was because of a holocron. I didn't choose it because everyone can attack at 64M so why would I use one of the slowest weapons in the game as the only perk for Rifleman? Well man was I wrong, I love this class and Im only at 4-1-3-3. I can tell you that if this doesn't unlock my slot then I am probably going to stop where I am and play the class. As Im trying to level as fast as I can, I haven't PvPed with it yet but that looks like even more fun.

Not gonna flame you but, just help the guy. I was a master carbineer til a few days ago when I got my first holocron. Wasn't looking for it, just happen to get lucky and get one as a drop. So I was curious as to what it would say and low and behold, Master Rifleman. In the carbineer forums we have tons of these same questions. If I am able to help with input, I submit a reply. If not, I just move on to the next post. I am looking for help also in the rifleman tree. No clue as to which styles and/or lines to persue first.

Basicly, if you can help, do. If you can't, move on. We are all here to have fun and I'm sure alittle help every once in awhile is very appreciated. I'm sure one day you will appreciate the help yourself.

COMBAT XP:

non-commandos can use c-12s

if you do it properly you can switch the XP you gain per kill

ie. 3425 rifle xp and 342 combat xp will turn into 3425 combat xp and 342 rifle xp

how to do it:

try to single out a target and work one at a time (pikets)

stack the mind bleeds ( /mindshot1 ; /mindshot2 with a good dmg sliced laser rifle and you should be bleeding in the 1000-3000 range)

unequip rifle and run in, toss a grenade and run out when attacked OR equip rifle again (spraystick or speed sliced e11/dlt20a)-suppression fire or /warningshot ; /peace ( until the target starts to runaway, then follow it and do this combo again when it turns to attackonce again ) the safest way to do this. ( you can juggle / yo-yo 4 no prob when perfected)

make sure that the grenade does the most damage other than the bleeds....other wise you will not get the fullswitch of xp.

if you do use suppression fire or the warningshot peace combo, you may need to throw another grenade to make sure the grenades did the most regular damage.

from the looks of it now youll need to fire off a headshot to finish the mind death of your target, i recommend usuing a really low dmg rifle and the weakest headshot so it doesnt mess up the grenade combat xp switch.

hopefully this tactic still works post patches, havent had to do it for a while now (master sharpshooter)

ORDER OF ADVANCEMENT

get1 x x x, asap, /mindshot1 + /mindshot2 stack, and until master these bleeds are your best friend soloPvE

spend your combat XP asap goin up x x x 0,rifle special abilities"soldier" tier, speed increases are your friend

flurry shot 1 (x x x 1) and suppression fire 1(from x x x 4marksman tree) is the rifleman KD

/warningshot; /peace with a spray stick / or nice speed sliced rifle is your friend [warningshot is from marksmanx x x 3(agro the agros, heh)]

after 1 x x x go 1 x 3 x, the mods on expert counter sniping are nice, plus thats you first rifle AE

then just grind grind grind..........always spend your combat XP to ge the speed increases asap (x x x 4), after 1 x 3 x continue with what suits your play style......4 x 3 x for PvP 1 4 3 x for PvE

Wow, very nice and thanks a ton! Was gonna make a post just like the original posters but he beat me to it. Thank god I have 300k combat exp saved up from being a Master Carbineer for so long.

do piket missions not bol. bol do nasty disease and you have to stop and store pets all the time. i ignore bols. pike protectors are the best just grab two and kill everything between you and your missions. pikets give between 3500-4500 xp depending on type of piket.

Also, Xaverri, I don't consider my post an insult a flame by any means. So far I've been playing the game non-stop since Beta 3, I've master 16 profs in the game, and rifleman is the one I've come across that I've had the most difficulty with so far to be honest. There's more skill to a solo rifleman than spamming flame cone 1. I consider it more of a compliment to the rifleman here, and it's not my intent to give rifleman a bad name at all.
