With mask scent, while kneeling I can get 3 shots of before the creature attacks me.. would I be able to get 4 if I'm prone?

I don't recall ever getting more than three shots off before being aggroed unless I was using Concealshot.

However, in answer to your question, the number of shots you can get off seem to be related to how easy it is to detect you. If you are standing, they will detect you faster than if you are kneeling, and if you are prone, it will be harder to detect than if you are kneeling or standing. Thus, you will get more shots off while prone than while standing, etc. So if it is possilbe to get off 4 shots before they aggro, it is more likely that it will happen if you are prone than if you are kneeling.

How does Conceal Shot work? I'm just novice rifleman, so I don't belive i can use that yet.

conceal lets you wack away at a target till it either spots you through the normal rules of creatures attacking you or you miss 2 shots

You have to get intermediate concealment tactics to get Conceal shot, then when you want to use it, you go prone, take cover and use conceal shot and spam spam spam it.

Bleh, don't take cover. It's garbage right now- and funny thing is you don't need it to use ConcealShot(even though it says you do)

Yes, you'd be much better off going prone.. more accuracy, and more shots.
