Thread: Please help, Master Rifleman going TKA as backup. What to surrender?

Hey everybody. As title says Im a Master Rifleman going TKA too. But the problem is that I am also Master Maksman and 4,0,4,0 in Scout and some points in medic too.

I mainly went for TKA due to powerboost. I was a CH before and could solo lots of things, but only for 10 secs unbuffed. (Im a Twi'lek.. hello crappy choice).

Now, what should I surrender for the TKA.

I like the speed from Master Marksman, and because of the speed my HAM drains fast and therefore I want the powerboost.

I also like moving fast in terrain and being able to see if a creature deathblows (think thats hunting 3)

Anyone who has experience playing without scout? I've had it since day one.

Need some advice.

I'd take scout down to 3 0 0 0. You would have to give up seeing lots of things about creatures but after you fight everything a million times it sort of becomes moot. It's also probably better to assume everything DB and work from there

I dont know what you should surrender but im surrendering TK for Rifle, an boy did i have fun with Teras Kasi Master, no need for weapons, kill almost anything you go against, powerboost, force of will (crap now though),healin wounds

surrender all you can of marksmen. and just go 2 in first aid you canget stim b's so no need for pharm.

Going TK means you actually dont need any medic above novice once you start getting meditate.


However, i would give up the pistol and carbine trees of marksman, then the4th Tier scout trees then you make the choice between scout skills and medic skills for the rest.


My template is:


MRM / TKM


scout 3-0-3-0


novice medic


marksman 4-0-0-4


and I am still tinkering.

only reason to have master scout is if your a CH kinda handy to see the CL of creatures.

marksmen difference between master and non master is not that great when applied to rifles. of course this applies only if you are already a master rifle. the difference is VERY noticable at less than master rifle levels. my shots fly out a little over 1.5 a sec or so with my slowest specials and that is still enough to drain my mind FAST. regular shots i havent found a rifle that doesnt fire at 1 persec. so i gave up master marksmen.

Hm, thanks for your advice guys. I think I am gonna try and surrender Scout as I am a pure Rifleman and the only reason I am taking TKA is to improve my skills as rifleman (powerboost, owning everything I can't hit up close). And I really like my speed now

I figured that I it doesn't matter if I can't run fast cause when something gets close I have my TKA skills.

get a mount and drop all scout, and get novice medic only

Heh, your situation sounds awfully familiar - I've been a scout since day 1, made master rifle a bit ago, now working on TKM with 0010 medic and some BE clothing for the big heals. I had to drop scout the day before yesterday, and while it was a bit of a shock at first to have to rely on a mount, it's really been less traumatic than I expected. All I lost was the ability to make camps(oh well), harvest (oh well), run fast up hills (what mounts are for), and see if something deathblows (assume it can - I can still see all the resistances, and that's the important bit as far as I'm concerned). With those points, I'm going to be able to get Master Marksman, too, and I think that +5 speed boost will help a lot.


Let me know how it pans out! So far, it's been pretty good here. Particularly in PvP, as people have no idea what to do - keep changing those titles to keep them on their toes, hehee!

Glad to know Im not the only one with this problem. Im surrendering scout. I was wondering, If I get someone else to make me a camp, can't I place it then?
