Thread: Lethal Combinations! This Rocks!

Many of you may already know this one. However, I've been using this combination for the past 2 hours and it's freaking awesome for solo hunting without a tank!
I'm 2-0-3-2 (have about 400K to spend on leveling when these uber lairs despawn).
I'm getting around 60m from a creature (don't have mask scent), and lying prone. I'm using a T-21 with great damage but bad speed. However, I have several crates of powerups that lower the speed from 8.1 to 5.4 and likewise, reduce the mind ham cost to the 70's. I'm high on brandy and also on music/dancer buff (when I can be).
Here's what I do.
I shoot the creature w/3 headshot3's in a roll. On the third shot, they turn aggro on you and charge. I'm wearing ubese 70 percent kinetic and I'm a Master Doc, so I've buffed myself. As soon as you hit or miss on third shot, go peace. I quickly go from prone to kneeling so that specials still work,I then switch to a 1.6 speed spraystick with a damage powerup and hit one threaten shot and peace. If you hit they will run about 40 to 60m away. Switch back to your T21 and then bust them for 1 headshot 3 and peace. Switch to the spraystick and then threaten shot and peace again to make them run another 40m to 60m away. Once again, back to the T21 and headshot 3 for one more shot. Continue to do this and you can solo and if lucky like I've been a ton of times. You can drop a 10-15K mind ham creature and NEVER get hit.
I'm using a good damage Laser Carbine with no powerup to tap lairs. Shoot once and peace. 2 or 3 will come out. Follow the steps above to take them out one by one. Try not to let your fire cross other creatures paths or multiple targets will aggro you. If they do, stay kneeling (if dizzy--don't move whatever youdo or you're down until the state effect wears off). I have also noticed that when groups aggro me, I use area bleed on each one and then a few area shots for crowd control. Then I target one and finish it off and move to the next one. I've only had to do this a few times as I'm careful not to shoot across the line of sight of more then on creature. This almost seems like an exploit to kill stuff with 15K mind hams and never get hit or hit just once or twice. It's all in the timing of the threaten, peace, switch guns, etc.
Try it, you'll love it. I'm currently in the middle of Dantooine with 2 seething bol crusher lairs (I can remove my own disease and dizzy with doc), 1 graul mauler lair, and 1 savage quenker lair. Maulers and Bol's are netting me 4400 or better xp per kill and quenkers (I can often 3 shot the mind before they know what hit them for 3300ish xp).
I've made over 200K in just under 1 hour.
Good luck!

LMAO!! Noob rifleman i see huh? Why dont you just conceal shot for about 2.5-3.5k damage every hit and they don't even notice you are there....i mean c'mon 15k mind creatures? Try soloing a 375k HAM Nightsister Elder. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
What Eacrates meant to say is, I am glad you are enjoy the rifleman proffession but just wait it gets alot better. Furthermore we always welcome new members to our burgoning community of rifleman.
Heh anyways, yeah it does getter though with some mobs one endor, I can kill them in 3-4 shots with headshot 3 and my nice t-21 if i get them in under 4 shots which i ussually do they dont get anywhere near me.
That is a good strategy. If you have or are planning to get Warningshot, swtich to it if you can. It has a higher chance of working and will work on higher level creatures than Threatenshot.
It used to be you could apply the same strategy with bleeds. Bleed them, the use Threatenshot or Warningshot to keep them away while they bleed to death. With bleeds being as nerfed as they are, this is not as useful. Still, you can apply a bleed and let it work on them while you are doing the same strategy.
Concealshot will also be useful when you can use it. It will take longer, but you can kill bigger stuff without being aggroed. The only caveat is that any shot can cause a small random bleed, including Concealshot. If this happens, the creature will aggro. If this happens, switch to your strategy above. In this case, since Concealshot is random pool, you may find it more effective to continue using a random pool attack rather than starting over on mind only.
I used to have a macro (before I gave up ranged support). It went something like this (exact commands... I'm a little fuzzy on)
/peace
/pause 1
/ui action ClearTargetQueue
/ui action TargetSelf
/ui action CycleTargetOutward
/WarningShot
/pause 1
/peace
Used it for a long time till I found it more useful to use a BE'dwarrior-mount. Just face the critters charging and press till the are all running.
Keep up that strat Asur but imagine yourself with a dlt20 and spraystick instead. Then try to picture the creature doing 2.5x the damage it does to you now if it gets within 20m of you and you will know what it was like to be a rifleman back in the old days.
Conceal shot...bah. They should change the way that works or something to put some challenge back into rifleman.
Noob rifleman indeed. I've mastered 24 professions and rifleman will be 25. The tactics I posted above are from self-discovery, no guide, so I think they work quite well. Actually, since I posted around 8ish this morning I'm now 4-1-4-3 and about to level to 4-2-4-4. Likewise, I've dropped using the spraystick unless I want a ton of state effects very quickly as the spraystick I have is 1.4 speed (misquoted earlier). Now that my speed is up quite a bit, I can 4 shot most things with the T-21 long before they can make a move on me. Likewise, there'sa 50/50 chance I won't miss now as they rush in from 60ish m out while I switch from prone to kneeling, so I can sometimes get 5 headshot 3's in before they reach my location.
I like the idea for leveling to stick with easier 15K mind pools and below on Dantooine. I can get over 4500 xp per voritor dasher grassland or graul mauler or Dantari or Seething Bol Crusher (AOEs are awesome on them), and the time it takes to level is very quick. 150K ham nightsisters = HIGH probability of being death blown and still likely under 5K xp per kill as I haven't tried them and with probably 5x to 10x the duration to kill. I'm hunting from a player city with a Rifleman trainer and most missions are less then 1K away, so I'd rather choose that method for leveling instead of fooling with night sisters or night sister elders. I've yet to die doing the tactics above or the new ones I've mentioned so I dare say they are legit. I'll start using the conceal shot tactics just to experiment, but unfortunately, I'll be moving on to the Brawler elites next to finish the last few professions before Jedi.
To those that offered advise on Rifleman during my journey, thanks for the tips!

If you're buffed, you don't really have to do much warning shot... but try tihis if you have ranged support IV.
Shoot the creature 3 times, and then on your fourth shot as it's charging at you, try Suppresion Fire . That will freeze it for another two free shots...
With a T21 whatever you're attacking should be pretty much dead if not dead already.
I level just fine buffed and NEVER had to use a spray stick.. you can sit there and take the punishment if your buffed.. no worries.
Hi there, i'm a wookiee master Bh, not hard at all
Spice-n-food, take up Medic, no need for doctor buffs.
open w/ pistol and torso/health shot. switch to carbine confusion shot/knockdown (by this time your running towards the target), when your close, switch to LLC and Single 2 him once or twice.
Most of the time you dont even need the spice/food. Most of the time I dont get hit. All the above happens in around 10 seconds, so alot of the times you dont get hit. BH's have 3 weapons for a reason, I figure i'd use em all =D
Stay Cool!

Ease up Eacrates, he came up with a good strategy that many riflemen and women had to use to level up. Back in the pre-concealshot days this is how you had to level rifleman, you Noobs are spoiled.

Ahhhh the yo-yo technique. Served me mighty well. Warningshot with my speed sliced scout (1.6) , headshots with my E-11 (3.1). Good times. Towards the end, Bria got t-21's and the melee 2.5x was gone.
Before that, I used a Dlt20a that had 276 max damage and about 4.0 speed the drop headshots into Gualamas. Lotsa good memories there..
