Thread: Rifleman and Combat Medic? Good combo for PvE?

As of now I'm a rifle specialist with some ranged special things (the 4th tier). I also have medic skills 2/1/1/2, and I love the profession. Since most mobs don't do mind damage wouldn't that be a pretty good combo for pve? Opinions would be appreciated.

i personally like rifleman/doc better because then i can use D enhancers on myself and friends.

Hey Bounty i was thinking about the same combo. It sounds neat, if you get there first gimme a shout how you like it

Combat medic is going to receive a fat nerf soon. Everyone is making one, its one of the easiest things to XP in, so many ways to cheat XP too.


Dueling, tumbling macro, cantinas, duel rezzing, ect.


Then everyone complains about there AoE poisons. Im betting they are reduced 75 percent. And they dont last as long, and there tick is decreased.

I am 3/1/0/1 Rifleman and 3/3/2/3 Combat Medic. Though the majority of mobs do attack your HA, there are some that attack your M specifically or throw random poolattacks. When in combat PvsE and P, I find I'm focusing on either Rifleman or CM. Usually not both. It mostly depends on the groupI amin. If you are throwing stims and firing headshots like there is no tomorrow you will very shortly not have the points to heal, if needed, or become incapacitated with a well placed hit. To answer your question: Yes, I feel that Rifle/CM is a very viable combination.

I am almost Master CM(9k medical crafting XP remains) and Rifleman 2/0/3/2. Zabrak with Mind 1K, Focus 500, willpower 700 - and I do quite fine. I dont know why CMs should be nerfed, Aldeon? Diseases and DoTs get a lot of resists in PvP.

Yeah they do, but that one time it sticks, and kills an entire zerg of people, (they probably dont have a doctor) You know there going to go straight to the discussion boards, and cry nerf. Although its timer does need to be reduced, if you dont have a doctor with you, your screwed. That thing lasts for like 20 minutes, and it ignores 3 DB rule. The best way to get rid of it, if you dont have a doctor around, is kill yourself.


Our guild has about 6 CMs, not sure exact number, 4 Masters, and man do people complain . Check the starsider boards everyonce in a while, everyother day theres a post about poison.I dont think its to overpowering, I do think it should have a smaller timer, or dissapear on incap. Becuase usually, I kill the guy then Im poisoned. (im doctor though) so it incaps me, then I get up and heal it off. I usually cant heal it off the first incap, 7 second intervals, and 300-600 mind. Thats dead no matter what you do. But for the poor kid who isnt, or doesnt know any doctors, I hope he has a fun time bieng incapped atleast 10 times in a row. Thats my only problem with poison, long timer, ignores 3 incap rule, and fast as hell.
