Thread: Rodian viable as Rifleman?
I just started playing SWG again after a long break and am re-skilling my character. I'm thinking of going for Master Rifleman/Master Ranger, but he's a Rodian, so I'm not sure how well he's going to be able to handle the mind costs of using a rifle. I know that technically, any race can survive as any profession, but I understand that Rifleman is hard enough as it is until you reach Master.
I plan on PvPing quite a bit, so how I stack up against other players is a major concern. Would i be able to survive on food/spice buffs? Or would I forever be at a severe disadvantage even with buffs? I can handle being at a slight disadvantage, but I don't want to be a total gimp.
Well I'm a Mon Calamarian rifleman, lifes hard but good lol! Only problem is my red and green HAM bars are about 200 less then the average zabrak, but my mind is alot more, so I can use weapons like T21s and not worry about the HAM cost. I'm doing good aslong as I dont ake huge hits from creatures.
As far as PvP well I rock. I've been dong good, never lsot a duel and I hold my own in factional PvP. Just yesterday I killed a guy and his stormtrooper, and won 4 duels, and I'm only at 1, 0, 0, 1 so I think thats really well. Rifleman do the damage, and if they can get it off say goodbye to your dueling partner!
I am a Rodian, and I just reached novice riflemen without any noticeable problems.
I believe the key is choosing your weapons wisely, and using them to your best advantage. I always carry a laser, dl20a, jawa ion, & spraystick. I use each 1 for a specific purpose, and I almost never run out of Mind unless I take Mind damage (my mind is 615).
Oh..and don't wear armor - all I tend to wear for armor are boots & bracers (total of 20 mind cost).
