Thread: Problems with rifleman that should at very least be looked into
I have been a loyal rifleman supporter ( im a working towards master rifleman) however i think i may need to remove rifle and go to either pistol or to carbine the reason s you will see bellow
1) everytime i go prone 1 of 2 things happens a the mob goes just out of range by running and i have to take off after it and my pets ( oh also working on master CH) since my idea range is around 60 with the T21 ,and the laser rifle, or im litterally teleported up to 50 meters out of the fight. This in a close fight is unacceptable not only that i have been teleported into mobs that are aggro i was out of range of thier sensing me to suddenly prone at thier feet, combine this with the moind numbingly damage we take to meleee and as the book says from prima im keeping the cloneing facility working over time and working off those extra pounds with a long run.
2) Everyone i hunt with others ALOT more xp thne i do and hit harder then i do. I can tell you that if i take a large handgun oh say a colt 45 and hit a vested person the bullet KDs them if i use a rifle at same range i push the vest out of thier back removeing most of thier torso. Devs you need to make rifle significantly more powerful then pistols cause they are alot more powerful no mater what. just inaccurate and unweildy in close range combat.
3) Thirdly true we can hit the mind however unless we are with a combat medic who cares 90 percent of the people can't hit mind which means they hit body and we don't assit in damage in PVE unless we let our rifle normal shot mobs. all our specials really aren't that great head shot 3 is fun and if im with a BH freidn who can BTW up to 64 meters hit you with eyeshot ( little excesive hell yea they should have a range of like max 10 to 15 meters that they can hit you with that) I have noticed with + 21 ( best i seem to be able to get with T21) i hit for a little over 2k on an NPC with headshot 3. i have seen a bh eyeshot at64 meters for nealry 3k with a pistol hmmm unbalanced you bet yourbehind ill guarntee you take a pistol ill take a rifle ill out shoot you at long range every time you may hit a target but i **edit** well willl.
4) why did you nerf the T21 so badly ? ( this is a personal one i worry about) i thought a sniper was supposed to kill in one shot. The whole purpose of them is to hit a target kill it with a shot and sneak off without being seen 1 shot one kill true that doesn't always happen but 98 . 8 percent of the time they kill in a shot. then they fade off into the brush and disapear.
In summarry these are the things i have found most annoying in being rifleman low damage high dleay for a weapon that kinda works our mind shots are basically worthless you cn remove them and add us to the hit regular ham and we would be better off or give master rifleman a sniper shot that actually is a sniper shot meaining it kills the target outright. you can add this as a chance factor to fail but it will atleast give the rifleman the feel of being a sniper since thier weapons are mediocer at best. If these issues are tyo be left as they are id like to know so i cn work on my pistol skills and do some real damage

I agree. Especially with the rifle damage issue. Traditionally rifles have packed a bigger punch than pistols at a trade off of weight size, and speed for most people. You can argue that this is not a traditional universe and that we're all firing lasers, but rifles exist for a reason. They aren't going to be around if people are doing the same damage with the same accuracy at the same range (which can be done if you take up pistoleer/bh) at a faster pace with a smaller weapon and a smaller tax on their well being. And you can't tell me rifle's are around because they're weapons that can target mind either because bh hit mind with a pistol. So it's not something the weapon's capable of doing that others aren't it's something the user's capable of doing.
So come on devs, why do rifles exist?

Rifleman should be beefed up PERIOD! If we study sniping and accuracy how can we miss so much?
how about and (excuse the eq talk) invisiblilty spell? Snipers are hidden and dangerous so why not be hidden from radar and view? temporaly of course just like in eq it just makes since.
Why devs? why did u nerf the T21? too much damage? Are only commandos and BH suppost to have high dmg output?
Do you Devs even play this game??? We need a dev to play a rifleman for 15mins not on a hella lame test server but on eclipse or another heavy server, then maybe they will understand us.
I believe they arent even aware of this problem. The sad part is even if they are they cant take out 10mins to acknowlege the prob and give us a simple "we're on it"
