I've been reading through the posts here and I heard something about equiping a spraystick not having the same Melee Damage Penalty as other rifles. Can anyone confirm this? I bought one today in hopes that I could switch to it when enemies got close rather than usemy pistol (which I'm horrible with).

Well, I was still getting clobbered at close range, so I attacked some low level mobs and watched the numbers with the spraystick versus my laser rifle. Seems the average damage to mewas the same with either. So what's the deal? Is this a bug, or are spraysticks not supposed to lower the damage penalty? Anyone? Or is this the type of thing that switches from patch to patch?

It has the same penalty as any other rifle.
