Thread: Devs, I'm sick of dying all the time!
Riflemen, you know what I'm talking about... teleporting mobs coupled with the x2.5 damage multiplier.
I am SICK AND TIRED of dying all the time.
I've spent the last hour and and half trying to walk back from Wayfar and I keep getting killed by teleporting mobs.
This is what keeps on happenning...
1. I shoot a mob, it teleports, I die
2. I get aggro'd by a mob, it teleport, I die
3. I shoot a mob, everyone around it teleports, I die
4. I avoid a mob, it teleports next to me, aggro's me, I die
This is just ridiculous. Most of the mobs are melee so I die immediately. The ranged mobs teleport right into my -70 zone, so I miss all my shots and guess what... I die.
Not all of these teleports are 64m teleports too... I just had a swarming dewback that I was avoiding teleport about 100m to me... then I died.
This is getting so frustrating and has really been making the game a lot less fun to play...

The Rifleman need SOME WAY to survive melee attacks. The 2.5 melee pentalty is rediculous because we have no way to surviveif the mob gets in melee range. IF we die almost instnatly in melee rangeand we arent suposed to one or even 2shot mobs that give us exphow are we to survive light blue mobs that warp onto us?
Im totally with you A6 this needs to be fixed so we arent triple punished, warping, no accuracy at point blank, and the infamous 2.5 melee penalty.
I just started my training to become a rifleman, I've always liked the idea of becoming a master sniper 1 shotting everything from 60 meters away, but now I'm considering switching after what I've gone through so far, and the fact that there is really no hope.
Apparently if I want to solo something, I have to rely on the cheesy warning shot. Oops! I missed!

Combat for me revolves around my AT-ST now. I'll let that tank and do most of the damage and then I'll just stand behind it and shoot. Hopefully nothing will aggro onto me and insta-lag-kill 2.5x over.

You're right about the wimpy mob thing... one of my killers was a light blue Valarian. These are guys that I normally 1 or 2 shot.
I wasn't in a fighting mood, so when the Val thug aggroe'd me I ran away. He shot me so auto-fire took him out from about 60m, then next thing I know I have his 3 melee buddies all around me (they were about 80-90m away before that because I kept on running).
I stopped running and kept on shooting and missing as they beat me to a pulp and DBed me - starting my run away from Wayfar all over again.
This is silly. I'm a master rifleman too so I have the max accuracy, speed, & defensemods and, still, I couldn't take a single one of those thugs out before I died in 2 seconds.
Late last night I was running around Mos Eisley and some kind of super thug aggroe'd me. It did some kind of crazy Judo chop doing over 1k battle spam. Needless to say that was an instant incap/slain combo. Didn't even get a shot off. Just music/incap/dead.

Funny, I was considering posting something about this. I JUST logged out after dying twice to teleporting Valarians on my way back from Wayfar. I agree 100%, it sucks for us. We're supposed to have the advantage of distance versus these guys, but that's totally nullified when any monster or NPC who aggroes you has the ability to warp 100m into your face.
Is this just a nasty side effect of that patch that gave enemies who got hung up on walls or rocks the ability to warp out of it?
I'm really glad I still have my Fencer skills, and my sword on a hotkey. I mean, the guys will still warp onto me and get their licks in, but at least I have a chance to fight them off before being totally brutalized.
