I am working my way up to master rifleman (and thinking master carbineer as well, with some pistoleer) and was wondering does anybody go Special Forces and do any sniping??? I just wanted to know how practical this was, I know PvE is a option.

Also what attachments, food, etc. can you recommend for the PVP Sniper.

thanks...

In 1v1 combat, you won't find many good chances for Sniper shot unless your a BH, but on large battlefields you can make a big difference.Working alone, you can tabthrough the enemies looking for one that's getting beat on, wait for him to get close to stimming up, and hammer him into incap. If your target has an Armor Break on him, you can drop a player from 1/3 health into the grave. As a fire team, a small group of rifleman can basicly choose who will die next if they work well together.

If you really want to be a sniper, you'll want both rifleand general rangedspeed & accuracy tapes, and some say cover, takecover & riflecrawlspeed still help but I don't really know.

The long range cyber arms can stretch your reach to 80m and give you a ranged DB (VERY slow re-fire on that though).

For your gun, forget speed. You'll want one with big numbers, both min and max, and use a damage power-up. Your mission isn't to fire a lot, it's to kill or drive off what you do shoot at with massive well timed hits. If you plan to fire frequently using conceal shot, look into a rifle with a reduced visual signature. In the middle of a big battle, tracking fire from a T-21 back to it's source isn't all that hard, but a Tusken or Berzerker will propably go un-noticed..

Docs & CMs are priority targets at a battlefield. Kill the rez'ers, and then other kills will really start to count for something. Even if you can't kill them,it takesprecious mind to heal themselves and they'retending to their own buttinstead ofhealing teamates.

If your on a base defence team, watch for lowlevel players skirting the battlefield.A 30 player raid team can bethrown into chaoswith one roundif you use it to killoff their BE.

I like to go SF, then go undercover in Imperial player cities. Then I use conceal shot and kill them each, one-by-one. Pretty fun when goin in alone on a Black Ops mission .

Ah thanks for the advice I definately want to try my hand at some "one man" Black Ops.

I was curious at the cyberarms though...tell me more about the ranged DB option. Is it an "instant kill" and how long is the warm-up timer on this? One gives what 5m or 10m extra range?

I'm loving rifleman so far...I'm 4333. I'll master it and move onto carbineer then pistols and see how that goes.

Also if I'm Special forces and I lay say my swoop out "as bait" I'm pretty much sure it'll be red. But what about personnel, can they be attacked by Combatant players as well as Special forces.

One of the arms adds 5m to your range, the other 10m. You can't use 2 of the 10m arms till the devs start letting us run around with 2 left (or is it right...) arms though . The ranged deathblow special is just that, a death blow. You must 1st incap your target, then wait through the warm up. It's been a long while since I've used it, but I don't recall it being much (if any) longer than the normal DB timer.

It was snipershot pre-cu

Snipershot is a high damage shot now and not a deathblow

The only possible (but still unproven to everyones satisfaction) ranged deathblow would be (cyborg sniper shot?) a special that comes from wearing a cyborg arm.

I guess I'll just have to get an arm or two and try it out .

Ohhhhhhh. I gotcha. I thought it was a "one shot one kill" type of thing, not where you had to incap someone. It still would be cool to have a pair of these arms, not having to "blow your cover" to DB someone would be nice.

oh I have one of these, so if they are already incapd will this skill db them? or do they have to have at least a little health left for it to work?

I use snipershot alot in group PvP. Some tips would be:

1) Let the 'tanks' run into the battle first. If you are at the front of the pack and start getting hit, its almost impossible to use snipshot safely without getting loaded with state effects ect.

2) Dive shot -> Snipershot -> Kip up shot. A great combo. I noticed that when I would just go /prone and then try to snipershot, it wouldn't always work due to lag or some other reason. But when you use dive shot -> snipershot it works smoothly. Use the kip up shot to stand when you are ready to get up. Using these 2 combos in tandem with snipershot allow you to maximize your damage output, while also minimizing your risk of a 'misfire' of sorts with the first snipershot.

hope this helps
