Was messing around with a friend the other day and we dueled.

My Template

MMarksman, MRifles, MPistols, Carb 0440

Have both +10 & + 5 ranged arms + 11 rifle speed AA

ALR with pretty close to Max SAC and damage with pretty good speed.

All armor with 5000/7000

Eating a bunch of foods, sorry can't remember which ones, but ones that buff Action, and health, one that gives +101 melee defense, (tried to use Ruby Biel, and Parawan Nutricake, but have no idea how they work)

1200 pt Stim D's

Him,

Not sure exactly but think he is MDefender, he had a root, force run, Saber Throw and a lot of healing, lvl 80, but not knight.

Best I could do was eat up over 1/2 of his force before he caught up and finally pounded me, his root seemed to come back up much faster than mine.

Obviously I tried to keep him as far away as possible by using roots, snares, knockdowns, startle shot, but I think if I could figure out exactly how the Parawan Nutricake works I might have done a bit better (it seemed to work sometimes not others, which would allow me to open up some distance and shoot).

He did say it was the longest any non-jedi had lasted against him but again was only able to knock out 1/2 of his force.

Just wondering if anyone has any good tips, it would be fun to duel again and get him...

was the pawan nuticake BE enhanced? non be enhanced nuticake doen't have enough recovery decrease. also do NOT burst run unless you are full and can't eat nutricake, you should burst run as soon as you eat, unless you are dizzy. I think he only had one line of defendor, the force aura one. It sounded like he had a lot of powers in his template, and those are the hardest to beat. best fight I ever had was against a master powers/MLS temp, he almost ate me alive, could hit and run ect.

One final thing, rifleman have always been terrible duelers, relativley, brawlers tend to do much better, simply becuase they don't have to reopen the range from the get go. otoh fights that start out at 50m + tend to always go to the rifleman, unless they start getting los issues.

It was for cloaked jedi

it is and isn't

once you hit him if he has nothing else he is attacking he will autotarget you (it is an autotarget issue) not a /tar issue

you need CM 4/0/0/0, this will allow you to outheal him. 75% armor break sliced energy armor, which will allow you to survive a KD, and ditch the range arms. you'd have to be really lucky to find terrain that you can hit consistantly at 80 meters, and if he has forcerun1 (he should, if not he's a pretty worthless jedi) range is not an issue, he can close distance at will. Parawan is nice, but a smart jedi will just run in circles around a building or hill until it wears off.

We were in an open field, no LOS issues. It was a friendly duel, I have never PvP'd before. From what I understand of forcerun, when he has it on he can't hit as hard, and I assume it drains his force.

I am assuming draining his force is really the only way to get him. Ifhe can heal and do all the jedi type stuff it makes him really hard to take down.

I have been thinking about dropping my carbines and MMarksman and picking up some CM. (Edit, just ran that through the calc and that would kill my RA by 75 dropping all carbines and MMarksman)

Maybe new template MMarksman, MRifles, CM 4000, Pistols 0003?)

Force Run 1 drains a negligible amount of force and damage output is not decreased at all (damage output is only decreased when using force run 2/3)

Your best bet for beating jedi is to keep distance (roots/snares etc) and to have your armour sliced such that it is resistent to armour break. CM 4004 is a really useful addition to any template as you can heal alot better and have snares and a bunch of awesome debuffs to use. Also, against jedi use high energy resist armour.
