i think the best quest reward rifle is the Trandoshan Hunter's Rifle, its a reward for a semi-difficult Kashyyyk Quest, bases stats are:

2.6speed

520-1040dmg,

95 sac

312dps

If your short on cash and just getting rolling then the best bet is the Advanced Laser Rifle. Find one from a good weaponsmith with a SAC of 82 and decent damage. Use some damage or speed pups on it and get it sliced. The ALR will cap at 82 on the SAC (the lowest possible) and the damage will cap at 1,184 (the highest possible even after slicing). You can then use a powerup to increase that value...just realize the powerup percent works off the min damage of the weapon and that percent value will then be added to the min and the max damages. (so two similar rifles on max dam....the better one will have higher min damage as well).

Most of the Looted/Quest rifles have a SAC of 95. While fine for playing around with or showing off.....they are not that practical for everyday combat. If your really doing some extended firing the 95 SAC is pretty tough on your action bar...which leaves you waiting for it to regen before you can fire. You can use SAC reduction pups if you must...but this then prevents you from using a speed or damage powerup. Thus your best bet is a crafted rifle with a low SAC of 82 and then go from there.

Best of both worlds? The crafted Trandoshan Hunting Rifle is probably the weapon of choice. Not a lot of them around as it's tough to loot the schematic and the barrel needed to make it. Plus you then need some hefty Krayt tissues to make a really good one. But where it is crafted you can get the SAC down to 82, cap the damage at 1,184 (like the ALR) and then work on speed and critical with your slices. Add a damage powerup and you have a very nice rifle that not many others will have that will do 525 - 1,184damage, 2.5 speed, 30% wound, and a +17 accuracy bonus. A damage powerup added to that will take you to over 1,350 max damage which will make you a force to recon with on the battlefield.

I've checked the quest for trandoshan hunting rifle, it says you need to kill a lvl 82 mobs in ryatt trail..does anyone know which level is it?

its the last level, and the mobs are CL82 Elite

I've always used an Advanced Laser Rifle. I got it for 100k, a very good price for the damage it does. I've seen rifles for 1 million that do much less DPS. I can't remember the base DPS, but modified to me I get about 528. Whenever I hunted with Level 80 guys back when I was a lowly 54, I always did more damage than them. Thank God for Combat Medics.
