I have done all the brawler and brawler elite proffs, as well as Pistoleer... I have NEVER had the problem I describe below, is this a normal thing with rifleman?

I got to Novice Rifleman and started my usual routine of getting into a solo group and hunting Quenker Lairs. At Novice I was getting 3100 XP per kill and trained up the entire Sniping tree one box at a time, still getting 3100 XP per kill even when I hit 4003. My tactic is just lay prone and snipe each quenker with Head Shot 2, and will be untill master.

Please note here, that this has what i've done with ALL my other combat professions. I just did Quenker missions in a solo group and always got 3100 XP per kill all the way to and at Master.

I then decided to Just keep hunting till I ran out off buffs before getting trained (Saw no reason, and was having fun sniping lol). So when my buffs ran out I had enough XP to train all the way from 4003 to 4304, and I did. The next morning I did the usual, got buffs and joined a solo group. The quenkers now gave me 2800 XP per kill... I say, whatever must be a glitch, its only 300 less.

I then train up to 4404 and now quenkers give me 2500 XP per kill...

Something is wrong =( Has this happened to anyone else? Will I lose 300 XP per kill everytime I train now? As I stated earlier, this never happened with any of the other combat classes, I got the 3100 XP per kill all the way to master.

I'm sorry to bore you with the long post, but I hope someone can help me out...

PS

After I started getting 2500 XP I gave up for the evening and had to go out early the next day for a weekend holiday, so I havn't been able to check if a server reset put me back to normal. I'm hoping someone else has had this problem and it got fixed. =)

Think about this long enough and it'll answer your question:

when you were a novice marksman, and you killed a chuba, it gave you like 188 XP a pop, right? Then, when you hit Novice Rifleman it gave you 1 XP per. Get it?

I know one thing, and dont know another!

What I know: As a rifleman, I know as I moved up the skill trees, the XP went down, as you are seeing.

What I don't know: Haven't done the brawler trees, so I can not attest to whether it is rifleman-only.

You DO realize that if you group with ANYTHING (mount, droid, buddy) you get more XP?

(I used to group with my droid or mount, leave it in town, then go a'huntin' for a significant increase - maybe 25% - in XP).

Also, there is a new food that increases your XP for a while, but I dont need xp so I dont know what food (or drink) it is.

Actually what happened is they nerfed quenkers. Savages now have 3k or so more ham and you get 4k xp instead of 3.9k xp and regulars ham are the same but you only get 2500 xp instead of 3100 xp.

Actually what happened is that yes it's different for rifleman.

I didn't know this wasn't the case with other profs until I did teras kasi last week. XP stayed the same the whole way up the tree, while with rifleman it got progressively less as I moved up and I had to move to other, higher difficulty, lairs to get the same XP. I've no idea why this is, or if it's the same with the other ranged profs (anyone confirm?) but that's the way it was for me.

This happened to me when I was a commando, I'd get 3k max on savage quenkers but with carbineer and fencer I'd get 3.9k. I think its got something to do with the amount of time it takes to kill it.

Hrm.....well, I am 4-2-4-4 so far and I have yet to see an xp drop. Savage quenks are still 3100ish. I have been killing huurton howlers left and right since I got Nov. Rifle and have steadily gotten 4300ish on those.

I can say though, that I have seen an xp drop in most of the other profs. Most notably was commando. After only training the 2nd box in FT, Pikets went from 3400 to 2300xp a pop.

XP works on a bell curve for each particular monster. each skill and you current power level with that skill determines your XP. for example with rifles being the most powerful skillset for hunting animals things like a quenker will start on the upside of the bell and quickly top out and start down the downside. with pistol and shooting rancors pistol never becomes powerful enough to reach the top of the rancor XP beel curve so you only get more XP per kill as you get higher on the curve. same for quenkers.

if you have ever done heavy weapons most of them start on the downside of the curve and you get less XP as you go along for some monsters. jedi have the same problem so are forced to hunt tougher and harder monsters as they progress in power. most skills except rifles heavy weapons jedi can hunt small monsters with no real loss in XP as you get stronger.
