Sorry forgot the question!

Well here it goes. I just made Novice Riflemen tonight, and i was just wondering, I stoped playing the game back in publish 6 and was wondering IS Riflemen as strong now as it was then? Have we been nerfed big time? Have we been improved?

Any info you can provide would be helpfull, I was a TKM on the shadowfire server before i stopped playing and was just hitting novice riflemen.

THanks in advanced

Riflemen are still very powerful.

Probably even moreso because of our high damage and accurate AP weapons as well.

We took a little hit in the pants when Stun layered Composite came online.... but we have some of the best Ranged Defense points, and the Disruptor rifle (Medium AP, with Acid damage... not uncommon to see 400+ maxwith a damage slice) made PvE a lot better for us. I haven't seen the Berserker rifle, but it sounds to be pretty sweet as well (except the whole non-armor piercing bit).

Stun doesn't work on any mechanized unit anymore, which kinda sucks, but still isn't crippling. Cover is still pointless which makes Strafe Shot 2 just a high damage/random pool shot. It'd be nice if it caused a delay to all targets instead of just ones who've taken cover (ie. no one).

T21s with stocks just went over 400 max damage unsliced on Bria (although the speed and ham don't make the rifle worth it) so there's still some life left in them.

The Hunter title is now replaced with "Assassin" and Master Sharpshooter with "Master Rifleman", which isn't really anything all that interesting. Lots of "assassins" walking around, but that was to be expected.

Krayt is harder to get now (I can't remember if the dragons were a publish 6 or 7 fix), so don't expect to see the abundance of krayt rifles there once were.

The Jawa is still the pvp rifle of choice, unless you can find a good high damage/low ham DLT20a or Tusken. I use the disruptor because I lucked out and the min damage is higher than anything else I've seen... and acid damage is good for people in Ubese. Speaking of Ubese, it's become the armor to have for PvE and some Pvp. It's got lower hams than composite, and some resists are hitting 70ish Kinetic, unsliced.

Thanks undead, i think i'm going to stick it out till master. The info you provided was great. Now, just to find one of those disruptors.

Rifles got major fixes around the time you quit, namely the removal of the 2.5x, the accuracy and defense additions, and other such things. The rampant use of composite and Doc buffs has made us the "it" class, and Food has made the limitations of HAM costs non-existent. Get some BE brandy and Ahrisa/Canape and you'll see.
