Yes, there is no cert fr the Beam rifle- it just looks pretty

To hit the speed cap with any special (SS2), you will need a rifle of 3.0 speed or less- assuming you have only the +90 speed from MR. As you may guess, it's extremely beneficial to invest in some rifle speed tapes. At +97, you will hit the speed cap with any rifle. Not a huge numerical difference, but the results are worlds apart.

You hit the speed cap with most rifles if you have MR and MM, which puts you at 95 rifle speed.

Stick with the old laser rifle until you're a bit higher up the rifleman tree. Its medium AP plus the damage/delay ration is very good. T21 is nice but when you're low on the rifleman tree its slow as molasses making you rely on your weapon's built in delay instead of your speed skill.

The speed cap varies depending on the type of special you use. Normal firing without a special is the exact delay that your speed skill is set at. Example

Headshot 3 has a 2.0 modifier while Strafeshot 2 (our most damaging attack) has a 3.5 modifier. Now if you look under the FAQ they have the formula posted there. Lets say you're using a laser rifle with 5.5 delay but you have a T21 with a 7.0 delay. Here's how it works out. Remember at Master Rifleman your speed is 90

100 - 90(master rifle speed) x 0.01= 0.1 your speed modifier

Laser rifle: 5.5 (rifle delay) x 2.0 (headshot3 modifier)= 11So now 11(special attack modifier) x0.1(rifle speed modifer)= 1.1 This is how fast it takes for eachspecial. If you want to do strafeshot2 then insert 3.5 instead of 2.0. Then the math turns into 5.5 x 3.5= 19.25 And 19.25 x 0.1= 1.9 sec

T21 rifle: 7 (rifle delay) x 2.0 (headshot3 modifier)= 14 So now 14 x 0.1 = 1.4 sec Strafeshot2 the math says 7(rifle speed) x 3.5 (SS3 modifier)=24.5 And 24.5 x 0.1= 2.4 sec

Math is evil but will answer your questions. Just remember your innate speed modifier at master rifleman is 0.1 unless you get some speed tapes. That and never buy a t21 with a delay higher than 7.5 Anything higher is junk
