Are these a total waste of Time??

/moan

I bought a DXR6b for 200k and within 24 hours of limited use it was down to 40%, so not wanting to trash it any further I searched the galaxy for the highest repair tool I could find, it had 6 uses so I tested it on slightly less valuable weapons 1st. On 4 out of the five tests it lowered the max value to below what the weapon had decayed to. On the fith attempt it repaired a weapon to max value. So on the last charge I tried the DXR6b. And bingo one trashed weapon less than 48 hours old. Straight down to condition 1/1.

I've had pretty good suceess with armour repair tools. So why the problem with weapon reapir?

and as a side issue are DXR6b's that crap they decay away in a couple of days moderate use???

well, they arnt a waste of time at all. its just recently that ive been getting a bunch of bad repairs....i think the devs made it harder to repair wpns, which in my opinon they should have (but im a wpnsmith but try to make sure you repair the wpn before it drops below 50 percent....that seems to be the breaking points.. usually before that you will loose 200 condition but atleast you avhe the wpn, below 50 percent there is a chance the wpn will be destoryed.

The problem with repair, either weapon or armor is that it's somewhat broken imo. There is no solid evidence from the devs how this works and no extensive published player tests that I've seen.

Even with a 'perfect' tool experimented to 100% on that one day crafting patch debacle, you are not guaranteed success as people have reported failures. Are you sure it was 6 uses. I've been selling 100% tools (100.0 functionality) since that patch day and they only have 5 uses each.

However, some chance at repair is better than none in my book, and you may as well give yourself the highest probability by using the highest rated tool you can find. I just wish they would fix it so we knew where we stood.

I feel for you it happens to us all. I did read somewhere that a WS or AS would have some sort of bonus if they did the repair though I haven't been able to find any further evidence of this.

The repair system is quite unpredictable (either by design or bugginess). Even with a high % repair tool, it isn't uncommon to fail on a repair.

I'm interested in what the max condition was on your DXR-6b before you tried to repair it? I believe they start out at around 600 max condition. Most WSs seem to use yellow cubes to increase damage. If green cubes were used, the damage would be slighty lower, yet the weapon would last noticeably longer. If yellow cubes were used, try it with green ones next time

Personally, I like to have a WS repair my weapons (preferably one who has +repair tapes). It may not make success any more likely, but itsince no one seems to knowfor sure, it doesn't hurt to try.

I think the DXr6b started about 646 condition. After 24 hours it had got down to abround 350 so I decided to repair it. I used a 98.4% (roughly) repair tool.

Ah well, back to the grind, get another 200k and maybe get another Dxr6, not sure yet, as they dont seem to last long I may not bother. Just for comparison, I also tend to wear out T21's in about 24 hours as well. However the cost difference between the two weapons is huge.

As another note. I Said that I'd had no failures with repairing armour. Well, I just did. Thats weapons and armour all trashed in one day, alothough with the armour i think it may have got below 50% so thats just mu own fault for not doing something about it sooner.

Its a shame repair tools dont have a warning flash up saying "Are you really sure you want to destroy this item?"

I feel your pain. I had a 218 max damege VK non sliced not PUed, and when I tryed to repair it it died the best VK I had ever seen and it's useless. I havn't had to repair any of my rifles yet, but I guess I should if you get better results before it get below 50%.

Taking a look around at other Dxr6b's they all seem to start with a condition around the low 600's. I might not bother getting another, its a nice weapon, but what good is it if you are afraid to use it. I am starting to suspect the Dev's intention with this and many of teh newer high spec weapons is that they are wall decorations for credit grinders. ( my dead one is now on my wall.)

besides I now cant find a replacement for sale on Farstar so if anybody knows where one is for sale let me know. ( I did find Ezo has one for sale, but seeing as he wants 600K for it and it has the stats as the previous one I paid 190K for I'll pass on that one.)

i noticed the same prob when i got my dxr-6 rifle....tbh im not gonna be using specials like conceal shot or flushing shot with it, as that takes condition fast, im gonna use mind shot to drop the gurks in 4 shots or so.

i got it for 100k and it better not break....4.2 speed 42% damage isa good rifle.
